    What has changed?!

The question at hand is what has changed?

What do I mean, what has changed? I'll tell you what I mean. This board used to have an abundance of great convorsation. Now it is just a little of this and a little of that. Nothing that we all get into.

I just want to know what has changed? Is it because we have lost the presence of The GM? I certinaly hope not!

I guess I am just being greedy. I miss our great convorsations on here. I used to love comming on here to see what people had to say about the issue that was at hand. But for the last little while I haven't seen a lot that would spark the convorsation.

Besides, it can;t be just a select few people sparking it all the time. DIfferent people have views of their own. Don't be afraid to use them. People will respect you more for saying what you feel.

    Re: What has changed?!

Titan I don't think much has changed I do however feel that people don't always feel they make a difference. There are many exciting things appearing on the horizon. Several pro\elite leagues seem to be forming in the Hotbed pockets of Inline hockey. I recieved word today from USA Inline that they want to start a grass-roots program for club teams around the country with there own regional and national tournaments. Narch Winternationals are just around the corner I guess we'll see some more SoCal vs. the rest of the country, or at least we'll get to hear all the SoCal players and coaches tell us its Them all the way. A new season of inline hockey is beginning and maybe tournament directors will listen when we say as players, fans, and coaches that we want more. I know we are attending a coastal cup this weekend and are already impressed with the direction this small series is taking and notice everyday someone new is coming and promising better hockey for us to play, I hope they can deliver. Check out CRHL's web-site and you will notice they have grown many new schools around the country this upcoming year. Collegiate roller hockey is really taking off. One day maybe it will move form club sport to scholarship athletics. I know as a coach of high school age players for the first time ever am meeting college roller hockey coaches and trying to help my kids continue playing hockey when they move off to college. Our future has never looked brighter and I do believe it is because of this board and guys like you, Benny and the Buffalo Wings, GM, Irish on a competitors board and all the people who love all HOCKEY. Heck I've have met and talked to so many influencial people in our sport just from posting on this board. Stay positive and continue pumping us up with your post and I sure the rest of us will follow suit. Hockey is the best game in the world and I mean all hockey Ice, Inline, hardball, Deck, pond you name the game and many of us would rush to join a game. I know I will keep tuning in and every now and then piping in my 2 cents worth of opinion.

Hi Ken and all out there,

Thanks for mentioning my name and that of the Wings. Your optimism is right on target. I think the board has been a little quiet because of the time of the year, mainly back to school, but the start of the collegiate season and NARCh WInternationals is right around the corner and should spark things up again.

And I'll chime in on the college scene. As some of you may know, I am the Business Senior Advisor for the Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey Association which represents the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Collegiate Roller Hockey League. The University at Buffalo has started a team this year and the Buffalo Wings is the sponsor. I have volunteered my services to be the team's advisor and head coach. This past Sunday I had the immense pleasure of coaching my first college roller hockey game for the University at Buffalo (UB) as we played divisional rival SUNY Brockport in a pre-season game. It was an exciting game with the scoring going back and forth until UB won the game with 9 seconds left by a score of 4-3. It was the first time UB played together as a team in a game and for some it was like we won the national championship.

For someone who has been involved in the sport of roller hockey since 1994 and has been a pro GM and head coach, there was nothing more satisfying than seeing the excitement on the UB player's faces. In lieu of a national pro league, there is no place I would rather be than behind the bench coaching the University at Buffalo's roller hockey team in the CRHL. There is no better competition than in the CRHL and if there was a national pro league, I guarantee many of these players would be drafted and suiting up for the pro's.

The Buffalo Wings organization is proud to be associated with a team in the CRHL and I am proud to be the head coach of UB. This Sunday we have another pre-season game against the defending CRHL DI National Champions Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Tigers who is coached by former RIT all-star player and former Mission Junior Buffalo Wings player, Ken Meyer. It should be a great game and a tremendous test for our newly formed UB team.

If any of you have an opportunity to check out a college roller hockey game in your area I would highly recommend it, because this is the best action around.
