Is there any competitive youth inline in WA state?

We live in Colorado, which is a hotbed for youth inline hockey. My 12 year old has been playing since he was 5, and we've been really lucky to have him play for some great programs & coaches (Dave Fromm, CJ Yoder), and has been able to go to NARCh, JO and State Wars. He's not an elite player, but he's good (solid AA to low AAA), and he LIVES for inline. He's played ice, and is decent at it, but he doesn't like it nearly as well.

So, I've been offered a job in Redmond, Washington. I can't find ANY information about any inline programs there, except for a couple of tiny house leagues. I can't yank him away from the sport. It would devistate him.

Anyone know if there is any sign of inline life in Washington state?

    Thanks, in advance.

A few years ago there was a facility in Redmond (Arena Sports) that had a decent inline rink + 2 indoor soccer fields. However, they pulled the hockey rink out and made it soccer as well.

Unfortunately there hasn't been much in Washington. Up in BC (90 minutes north) there is plenty of good inline hockey - 2 year round facilities, plus a number of other leagues that start playing in the Spring when the ice rinks pull their ice out for the spring/summer months.

Also, Portland, OR (3 hours south) has a couple of inline facilities that offer leagues and tournaments at different times during the year.

No problem....when you move to the area, feel free to come up the Langley Sportsplex (BC) and have a look around. We can give you more information on the different leagues, team, etc., that play each year. Your son can bring his skates up and jump on the floor for a bit.

Thanks....Still haven't decided whether to take the job. Lots of upheaval.

Mostly, I just wanted to make sure my google skills weren't seriously deteriorating. I couldn't find ANYTHING in Washington. I even checked NARCh, State Wars and J.O. stats from last year. I don't think any teams were sent in any age groups from the state.

If I do take it, I'll seriously look at having him try to hook up with a team out of BC.

    Thanks again.
