hey i have the same skates and what i did was tighten them just enuph so they dont fall off but good so the bearings have breathing room.

Loc tite?? I can barly put any pressure on the bolt without slowing down the wheel.

    Re: wicked 5 problem

i dont have the wickeds. But I use loc-tite on my Tour skates. I had the same problem. If I tighten them too much, wheels dont move. If I tightened to little so the wheel spun well, the axle would back itself out. So I put loctite on there to make sure I can keep it spinning but it wont fall out.

just make sure you dont get the permanent loc-tite, you want the blue stuff.

Can I assume that this is a common concern

    Re: wicked 5 problem

i think it happens often enough under regular use. I thought maybe it was bolts/axles. So I ordered new ones from Tour directly. However, it kept happening where they would loosen themselves during a game, and if I over-tightened them, my wheels would barely move. Since I added the loc-tite they havent been that bad, but I still keep an allen key on the bench at all times and make sure they are good to go.

Good luck getting it worked out.

    Re: wicked 5 problem

I agree now that there broke in my kid loves them and I think they have improved his speed and all around skating.
It just makes me wonder why I can tighten all 7 others tight and not this one.
    Seems odd.
The dealer told me to swap it with the second wheel to see if it acts different.

Does anyone have a Mission Tech phone number???

    Re: wicked 5 problem

I had/ have this problem as well. Not with the wicked 5's but with my RBK 5k's. I kinda figured it out though. Basically what happened with mine is. The wheels/ bearings that the skates came with work perfectly (they can be tightened down all the way and still spin). But I bought some cheap outdoor wheels/ bearings and they have this exact problem that you guys are talking about. So basically if I were you I would try different bearings.
