It all depends on the outdoor surface. Direct concrete, painted concrete, outdoor "sport" court.

The easy answer is to get the hardest wheels you can find in your size. Red Star makes a Triton wheel for outdoors, for instance. You are looking for something in an 84A hardness or higher (up to 100A hardness).

If you only play outdoors, you will wear out all wheels you try, based on heat and friction and wieght of the player.

I would recommend buying cheap hard wheels on ebay, or finding a pro shop selling out of date wheels for a $1 a wheel.

At that price who cares how many break.

I am have the same problem inside as well. But for outside, they are usually an 84a hardness. This what you need for outside. Not guarantees that they won't break. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply, it's usually direct or painted concrete, no playground rinks have the outdoor sport court. So basically I am just looking for the cheapest highest rate xxA wheel, right?

Definately go for the highest A available...84a is the highest I've seen. If that doesn't work try and get him some Goodyear or Bridgestone!
