    Best Team Of All Time

I am just wondering who everyone thinks is the best team in roller hockey history:
MUDCATS, CYCLONES, BULLFROGS, VIPERS, BEACH BOYS, LINDENWOOD, ETC. This list could go on forever.

My Vote: Team Paradise Bauer Beach Boys: I saw these guys destroy teams with 5 players.

All good choices, but my vote would have to be the guys from South Central LA in Mighty Ducks 2. Any team that could beat team USA has to get the nod.

If you are going to make a post about the "Best team of all time" I think you have to add the Mission Snipers JR from 1997. They didn't have the best player in the counrty on their team but they played amazing as a "team."

Maybe any of the FIRS teams, or several good players with Rob Laurie in net (sorry, Spidey)

Re: Best Team Of All Time

I apologize in advance; I am not trying to hijack the thread, but...

Musings like this get me to philosophically thinking: what if we really had a way to have 32, 64, 128, etc. rec league teams play for a national championship. Where we could make certain that all teams were formed from the same baseline of membership: A, B, C, D players all mixed in together from true house leagues...every team started out as equal.

Wouldn't that be a true national championship? and wouldn't that be a great thing?

Fact is (philospohically now, don't everybody take aim at me here), the challenge to tournamet teams is to see who can create the broadest base of recruitment...get the best from 200 players, get the best from 500 players, from 1,000...and so on. Then at each tournament you play, recruit the best one or two kids from your opponents. Each event, get a "better" team..

But is this really "better?" Is this really "the best?" Is this really what we want for our sport? What is the challenge in seeing who can recruit the best?

How much better is the challenge to take the team you have and develop them to become their best, individually and collectively, into whatever that level of excellence is for them!

If I get my new center going (we've started, slowly), I am going to put out the word to center, facility, and program directors that we are going to have a true rec tournament on a national level...might be festival style, might be geographic rep teams, can't say right now...but it will be the closest thing we can get to a true recreation national championship.

    Thanks for listening...

    HISTORY - I love history!!

If you picked an age bracket or something to narrow it down

Over the years I've seen many teams being good and consistant - its tough to say what then would beat the teams now - the game has evolved a bit but some teams have been around or organizations for that matter and have grown or just gotten better

My votes have to go to the Snipers Organization and Tim McManus without a doubt on all the National Championships to back it up at Jr, D1 and back when most of their guns were still pee-wee and bantams as well - Greg Thompson, Pete Pennecke, Mike Cianfrani, Derek Kern, and so many more players have gone through and I can go on...

The Hosers were a dominant force in the Major mens brackets back in the early Narch days, Koho cup and others

Team Rival in the late 90's with Jeff Reynaert, Jason Deskins, Mike Van Ryn were an unbelievable squad to watch at the major events in junior and major

A little team called the Tour Mudcats...

Sure Grip Squirts back in 97-98 with Gabe Gauthier

Paradise Beach Boys, some of the OC Blades and 99'ers squads back in the day too

There's more but lets narrow it down

How bout a little team called RINK RAT. They have won a few National Championships, actually back to back to back to back.

The OC Blades 88 team was pretty unbelievable. I believe that they won 5 NARCH Championships. And this years Lindenwood team is as good or better than any pro team I've ever seen!

The OC Blades teams always intimidated most of the players I played with. I think I played against the '87 and '88 teams.

I remember one practice before a tournament my coach asked if we were afraid of their fancy, matching red helmets.
