    Rhode Island

I play for Rhode Island and I have never played with a better bunch of guys who deserved to be where we were. We busted our asses all season long and for people to be knocking us isn't right. I understand that people didn't see the championship game they wanted to but thats the way it worked out. As for the Florida game, yes we took advantage of some power plays but I don't think it was noted that we finished the game killing a 4 0n 2 for 2 minutes. As for EMU being the "real" #2...they played an amazing game and never gave up until the buzzer went off but the score was still 5-4 in the end. RI doesn't have any PROS on it but played against the greatest teams in the country and made it to the championship game so I think people need to give a little more credit instead of making excuses for why we were there. Just for the record, RI is only graduating 2 guys so they will be be right back up there next year as well. Just wanted to thank everyone at RI for making my 4 years unforgettable and good luck to you guys next year!

I think it's easy for people to feel like they should've been here or there and say things that aren't right. For example, a lot of the crap that Stony Brook was/is taking was unjustified, and I feel wrong for posting anything but congratulations in the thread that was locked.

You guys made it to the finals. What anyone outside of Lindenwood says (only because they won ) doesn't really matter. You took advantage of your chances and came out on top, so congrats. BTW, I watched your game with EMU, and it was a great game for the crowd. Congrats to URI and way to rep the ECRHA!

From a league standpoint URI has been nothing but class this year and a true pleasure to have in the league. I look forward to seeing you guys make another run next year. Congratulations on a great season.

    Re: Rhode Island

You guys from URI really shouldn't even worry about what other people think about your team. The greatest statements are made by action, not talk. Talk is cheap. URI went deep into regionals and nationals. That is not cheap talk, that is real results.

You guys made it to the national finals for a reason. We (Rutgers) know firsthand how solid you guys were this season, after going 0-3-1 against you throughout the course of 06-07. I think its safe to say that all of the D1 teams in ECRHA know this as well. Good job by URI & RIT going deep into the playoffs and repping ECRHA well.

<insert another generic comment of positive reinforcement here>

URI - the biggest little team in the NCRHA

Random Rhose Island-Philly facts that don't even interest me but I'm bored at work...

...the state of Rhode Island is only 7.7 times larger than the city of Philadelphia (1,044 sq mi vs 135).

...Rhode Island had 34 murders in all of 2005. Philly has had over 100 in the first 4 months of 2007.

...Rhode Island is the home of Bill Conti, who composed the music for Rocky

...RI is also home of Vin Di Bona, creator of Americas Funniest Home Videos...which Bobn Saget used to host...who is from Philly

    high roller-

don't listen to what people are saying, its usually people hiding behind a handle trying to piss people off. having played you guys three times this year, i can justify that you guys were one of the best teams ive played against in my two years in ecrha. you guys represented ecrha well, and won the games that counted.
congratulations on this year, and even though you wont be back, im sure rhode island will be a national power for at least three more years, and unfortunately, i'm gonna have to deal with it until i graduate haha.

    Re: Rhode Island

Honestly, i dont think you need to post anything giving Rhode Island any respect. They are the ones who were in the championship game. If they didnt earn your respect for getting there, then they never will.

    Nationals: 5-1-1

    T 5-5 vs Florida International
W 9-5 vs CSU San Bernardino
    W 7-2 vs Michigan
    W 3-2 vs Florida
    W 6-2 vs Ohio State
    W 5-4 vs Eastern Michigan
    L 12-2 vs Lindenwood

PS: Awesome comeback win vs Eastern Michigan on Friday Night, sadly everyone was watching the RIT/Lindenwood game on the other rink.

i couldn't agree more.. even though we got spanked both games this year, we kept playing hockey for 3 periods.. this rarely happens when scores get that bad.. i thank you for this and hope that teams learn to play this kind of hockey instead of turning it into a bruisefest when a lead is built up.

I didnt get to see RI play except when they played lindenwoods b team in ny,and when they played the championship game , and when your going up against guys that are playing on pro leagues they will make anybody look bad. Great job this year .

    Re: Rhode Island

BTW, I watched quite a bit of Rhode Island vs. EMU. What a game. Satisfying result, too, if I may be so brash.

Congratulations to URI. In DI, second place is an awesome accomplishment.

(Because everyone knows the guys who play in pro leagues are going to come in first, every time. )
