Does anyone know when the playoffs will be starting up? Any feed back would be great. Thanx.

PIHA Playoffs start April 23rd.
THe first two rounds will all need to be finished by May 4th.
Each division will handle it their own way I suppose, but with the limited time I suspect most will have the divisional semis on Saturday and the divisional finals on Sunday. The following weekend May 5-6 will be conference finals.
I know the Eastern Conference FInals are set for Feastervilleand I think the Western Finals are some where in St Louis
2007 PIHA PLAYOFF FORMAT
So how will the playoffs work with all this expansion you might ask. Well here is your source for exactly that sort of information. The regular season will end on Sunday, April 22nd and the playoffs will begin the following weekend. Four rounds of playoffs will take place across North America to determine the 2007 PIHA Champion.
Divisional Playoffs
In each of the four divisions, the top four teams will be eligable for the playoffs. Each division will hold their own two rounds of playoffs; the divisional semi-finals, and divisional finals. All divisional playoffs will be played at the home of the highest seed in each match up. During the division semi-finals, the first place team will host the fourth place team, while the second place team hosts the third place team. All divisional series will be best of three game series to be played during the week of April 23rd through April 29th. The Division Championship will be a five game series! Each division winner will win $1,000 in prize money.
Conference Championships
Two seperate Conference Championship events will take place the weekend of May 5 & 6, 2007. The two division champions from the western conference will meet in a best of five game series at a pre-determined location, yet to be announced (St. Louis?). The three (changed to two now) division winners from the eastern conference will meet in a best of five game series also at a location yet to be determined (Feasterville). Each conference winner recieves a berth into the 2007 P.I.H.A. Finals.
PIHA League Championship
The 2007 PIHA Champions will be determined on Memorial Day weekend at a location yet to be determined (Colorado @ Tour Arena). The P.I.H.A. will showcase it's best team from each conference in a best of seven game series. Each winning team will be sent for the right to be call "Champions". The runner up will be awarded a $3,000 prize, while the 2007 Champions receive the $7,000 grand prize.
This is right off the PIHA website, so this will clear anything up if there was any confusion

towson9 - Would you be kind enough to post a link to the PIHA web site page that has that information? For the life of me I can't find it on their site.
Thanks,
Steve Inge

I thought last year the winners got $20,000.?
No i'm pretty sure it was the same for the winners and runners up last yeark, 7k and 3k. Last year the teams also played some exhibition matches against what was going to be the Canada West all stars this year, and there was supposed to be additional prize money involved in those games...

Is the format posted on the PIHA website the same for the minors and pros? Same thing with prize money?
i dont think the minors is posted, and i don't believe there is any prize money. last year both divisions held their own minor playoffs and didn't play each other. i don't know if that will change this year, i could see maybe each conference facing off in some minor finals, but at this point i don't think the league can afford to foot the bill for the minors to fly to colorado along with the pro's.

last year was a 7k and 3k prize given to the top two teams.

So its 7K & 3K for the two teams in the finals. Now is their 1K for winning their division included in that? So those two teams would actually win 4K & 8K
overall.
That is correct from my understanding!
hey....now youre assuming that 2 division winners are gonna make the finals! I thought playoffs were all about upsets man!
Correct me if I'm wrong here but if you made the finals....you won your division. Therefore yes two division winners will be making the finals...lol. Come on kid, let's pay attention here...LOL.
