The North won all the games. 4-3, 8-3, 6-3 and 7-4. I have no update on the awards.

Congrats to the NORTH squad, that was a pretty stacked South team that included some of the top players in the country, not just PIHA. Do we have any word one who recieved the individual player awards for the games?
tommy bruce was named mvp. the st louis boys played well together and it was some great hockey. the north squad played amazing and definitely took advantage of our lack of true d men. i think they had 62 odd man breaks this weekend. sorry leggs and joey d.the piha put on an amazing show and once again proved why it is the elite league out there. it was an outstanding weekend and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of it. thank you to charley yoder, karin pederson, the staff at the tour arena (absolutely one of if not the best facilities out there), the amazing fans, and all of the players and coaches from both teams. it was weekend i'll never forget.
Look for an article coming out this week about the All Star Weekend.
It was a great success and tons of fun!
Tommy Bruce (Southside Snipers/Team North) received MVP.
There were a ton of highlights from the weekend. One of my favorites was an incredible kick save by Brett Leggat (Pittsburgh Bandits/Team South) where it looked like he literally disjointed his leg to make the save..it was awesome
More details to come...

Hey guys, definitely an interesting weekend for the South Team...
Seeing as how this thread will probably get a lot of views, I wanted to quickly bring attention to the tremendous effort put in by Karin Pedersen of the Rocky Mountain division to organize and pull off this past weekend. I was not fortunate enough to attend the last All-Star event but from what I gather, this years event sets the bar. No comparison. Quite simply put, from a players perspective, it was exactly how an All-Star weekend should be. Although I know most people will wanna hear about the hockey that was played, anyone who is lucky enough to be a part of future All-Star games as professional as this one will truly be in for a great experience. Thanks to Karin, the entire weekend was enjoyable and a great success. It certainly has to be the first time I've gone 0-2 (sorry Leggs you gotta take the other 2), All-Star game or not, and had a great time.
As for the actual hockey, the North team came out determined and stayed that way through all four games. Despite big names of their own, on paper, the South's roster might have focused their entire squad to play disiplined, high intensity hockey and we (the South) ended up overwhelmed. To put it another way, we played like an All-Star team, and they played like a team that wanted to win badly. Guess they didn't get the memo that it was just for fun.. Either way, it was a great display for the fans and overall, a good time.
I can only hope that we get some of the highlights from the TV coverage up on Youtube so everyone can see what a great weekend of hockey it was.
Thanks again to everyone involved who made the weekend so enjoyable. Events like this are what will put PIHA in a class of its own as it continues to grow.
-Joe (the South goaltender who had a great time despite getting beat several times like a rented mule.)
I want to echo what everyone has been saying about Karin. She did an AMAZING job. The trip was very well organized (players received packets with schedules, information, etc) and really set the bar for not only an All Star Experience but a PIHA experience. The event had everything from television to entertainment. Players had their equipment laid out for them along with new gloves, helmets, jerseys, pants, etc. The crowd was energetic and the weekend also included some other great activities including a great party.
I had a blast over the weekend and it was great putting faces with names and watching the guys play. A comprehensive article will be up soon about the weekend for those who missed it.
The games were great as well.
Hey Dave,
Send me that wrap-up article and I'll be happy to post it on the IHC Home Page. Thanks!
