    Hi Manuel,

I hope that someone answers your question, either here on the Forums or by private e-mail.

I'm not a goaltender. In fact, I hate goaltenders. I always make them look good, and in return, they shut me down.
    Sincerely,

wat do u mean u make them look good? are you defense and make your goalie look good, or do u play offense and miss alot? im confused, plus there's no reason to hate goaltenders, somone has to do it and they do as much as you do. (by the way im not a goalie)

I mean I make them look good by letting them make spectacular saves on my incredible shots.

I was just kidding. I don't hate goaltenders. I despise them.

As far as moving around the best thing to do is to skate as often as possible. Any kind of skating, you don't have to strap on the gear everytime. The more time you spend in your skates, the better you will move.

I'd agree that the best thing you can do is skate. If you get stuck playing out of the net in a pickup game, play defense so you can skate backwards as much as possible. When you're skating around, practice skating backwards and carving side to side without crossing over.

A great drill to do with your gear on is the 4P drill (post-post-point-point). Imagine the play is going on in your end (think NHL style powerplay) and the puck is being held by the other team down in the corner so you're hugging the post. The puck is passed behind your net, so you power from your post to the far post and then the puck is moved to the point, so you get square from the post to the shooter at the point. Then the puck is moved to the other point, so you have to shift to square on that position. I always do this drill for about six 2 or 3 minute intervals during practice when my teammates move the puck around, or for about 2 minutes during warmups when I'm out there by myself.

Another thing to work on is leg strength. Do any exercises that help you increase your lower body and core strength, because these are the muscles that will help your turn and keep your balance around the net. Also, try putting some harder durometer wheels in your skates, it will give you a little bit of give side to side to help you slide better if needed.

    Hope this helps, good luck!
