Substitution for Easton Z-Carbon Yzerman Sr. blade?

I'm starting to play roller hockey again, and used to LOVE Easton's Z-Carbon Yzerman Sr. blades. Problem is, they don't make them anymore. I've had a heck of a time trying to find something similar.

What made the Yzerman blade so useful to me was the "closed" face. Almost all blades have "open" or "slightly open" faces. It also was a big mid-curve (not a heel or toe curve) and had rounded edges.

From what I can tell, the closest thing out there now is the Recchi CCM pattern.

Anybody have any suggestions?

i used to use that and i went to the heatley curve i dunno how close they are but i like it

Ok...after much searching, I FOUND IT. The closest thing to the Yzerman curve is....(drum roll please)....

The Mission Thornton curve.

Closed face, large mid-curve, rounded toe, lie of either 5.5 or 6

I cannot get much better than that...now, hopefully Mission won't stop making them anytime soon.

just kidding, but only barely...you are right about the old Yzerman curve being about the only closed-toe blade around, but geez, that thing has the biggest curve I've seen...whenever I used that stick, I pretty much had to just forget about anything backhand, the puck would go into the parking lot...

Last year I played with a very old wooden stick, one made originally for the local minor league pro team in the 70's...the thing had almost no curve at all, maybe a 32nd of an inch, was practically straight-bladed...I have often thought it might be fun to play in a league where everybody had to use a straight-blade as part of the rules...

CCM makes the Thorton curve. Not Mission.
