Nor'easter possible Sunday
Thursday, April 12, 2007
TRENTON (AP) -- April showers slowed the morning commute across New Jersey today, with forecasters predicting an inch to an inch and a half of rain.
However, that rain might be a taste of a worse storm that could pummel the Garden State during the weekend.
The National Weather Service was tracking a significant -- possibly major -- nor'easter that could affect the region Sunday into early next week.
The storm could pack heavy rain and wind gusts of 40 mph, forecasters said. There was concern that significant coastal flooding could accompany the storm because forecasters said it will coincide with a period of spring tides.
