    Need some skate help

Ok guys unfortunately North Central PA and Williamsport area does not have a ice rink, LUCKILY they at least have a decent inline rink. My kid just started playing this last Thursday in a developmental league. I went to the first practice and ended up getting asked to help with the kids. So here is the dilema. I need a set of CHEAP skates so I can get out on the rink and help out all I have is old outdoor rollerblades that are not usable inside. LUCKILY they had a set I could borrow last time I was there but I cant "count" on that every time I dont think. I'm hesitant on getting a set off ebay becuase of the different fit for every skate issue and there is absolutely NO WHERE localy that even sells them.

Id at least like to deal with a place that would have no problem with size exchanges if one it too small or big..ive read that most saktes are a size to size and a half smaller than my shoe size(except Missions that run true to size)...I wear a 10 so I assume id be looking at a 9 or so in a inline skate(except mission)? I really need to get something soon but really cant spend hundreds of dollars either..cheapest one ive found is a Flite Elite model for around $85 delivered..but no idea about this brand as they dont have many reviews or carriers so I dont know if this skate is even any good....HELP!!!!!!!

Yeah, im watching a couple on there now. Bad part is if they don't fit from there your kinda screwed...I was just figuring there HAD to be a place that sold "old/discontiinued" models for a decent price...I guess im just too used to ICE hockey where if you wanted to do what im doing...get a set just to skate around in while coaching you could do it for probably $50 EASY.....cheapest ive seen a inline Online is like $99....geesh I mean if I was actually wanting a pair to really play in id not hesitate to spend in the $200 range but this is just to wear whilke helping to coach a kids team I dont need "expensive" skates.... And I did get some sizing advice from my sister and her Husband who both play ice and roller hockey they said go try on some ice skates as the boots generaly fit the same between ice and inline...I did and its right I wear a size 10 shoe/sneaker BUT it seems a 8.5 is about the right size in the Bauer and Nikes I tried on all they had was full sizes a 8 was a but too small length wise and i had a bit of room in the 9's so 8.5 would seem just right. The Baures felt like rocks on my feet the Nikes much more comfortable to me.

    Hi CB,

Is there a Play It Again Sports store in your area?

I 've had missions and they were the same size as my shoe. My nike's are 1.5 size smaller. I just got new tours and they are 1 size smaller than my shoe. Another thing you could do is convert a pair of old ice hockey skates. You can find a cheap chasis and wheels online, hopefully this was helpful

Thanks, I ended up getting a pair of older but not used supposedly NIB Flite Elites. They should be the right size(9) but now I just hope they actually get here. It was the best deal I could get money wise.
