Lightbulb Some Lunatic and PIHA TV News Coverage

Earlier this week, Local Harrisburg CBS News Station WHP TV 21 Ran some coverage and a small interview from last Fridays Lunatic/Typhoon PIHA game.

All it took for the coverage is a simple phone call to the local stations sports department, let them know that your event has paying patrons, tell them it is Professional Inline Hockey, highs speed action, mention the league and its broad nationwide base, and Invite them to come check it out. Treat them with class when they come in the door, have one of your team representatives escort the crew around, perhaps even a player, but someone who can answer their questions with detail about the team and league.

It isnt much, just a small clip, but hopefully all the PIHA teams can start getting the word out.

They also put up on their TV website community page a blog with the links to PIHA , and both teams who competed websites. Pretty sweet setup: http://community.whptv.com/blogs/jas...0/1211959.aspx

First off, Wow... Great clip and game footage, everything is very, very professional and I am glad to see PIHA getting some more exposure, as it should. Great job to all of those involved.

    Great job Harrisburg!

To owners and managers of PIHA teams. Last year we (Scottdale Inferno) named a local newscaster as an honorary captain, we got her a jersey with " # 4" on the back (WTAE channel 4), and had her drop the opening puck. We recieved a 30 second spot on the news. It was that easy. I would encourage all PIHA teams to try it, it was great exposure for us, PIHA, and the sport. You can even go the route of saluting veterans, firefighters, local law enforcement, etc. This stuff makes the tv and newspapers.
