Looking for info on how to build a sport court

Hello everyone, I am a new member to the forum and looking to build my own
sports court for my children. They are both into hockey, basketball, and soccer. I have a limited budget and a big DIYer so I plan on doing the entire project myself.

My main question relates to the surface I should use. I have read other posts about using tiles from various manufacturers or roll-on type products. What would everyone suggest? I live in Texas btw and this court is purely for residential use....court will be 35X25 or thereabouts

    THanks in advance....

generally, you have to haggle on the price for flooring, but $2.75 is bout the going rate per square foot.

The roll-on products, and there are a variety, are all very god, if your cncrete surface is in very smooth condition.

play around on the internet looking for stuff, if you haven't already

Mateflex, Sportcourt, Ice Pro, Roll-on...some of the products.

    good, luck, have fun...

You can also try to find a person selling flooring. I have looked at several listings where someone is selling a court + another several hundred square feet of flooring. Maybe they had sport court in their lobby area...or split the rink into sections when they sold it. Another business that I saw had a damaged floor so they couldn't sell the entire floor (not enough pieces) so they sold it per square.

Also, read up on the products. Some of the floors aren't designed to take the heat / UV rays / conditions of being outside. It would be horrible to build a nice rink for the kids, only to have the Texas sun destroy it a few months later.

Good luck! I have thought about doing the same thing...
