Coastal Cup, the premier tournament series in the Southeast, has announced that its championship tournament will be a qualifier for the TORHS (Tournament of Roller Hockey Series) National Finals. "We are really excited about this agreement," said Jay Milton of Coastal Cup. "TORHS tournaments are very similar to Coastal Cup - a high level of competitiveness with the true focus on providing a fun, family oriented weekend of hockey. This arrangement is a real win-win-win situation. The players win because it offers them another opportunity to play at a high level. Coastal Cup wins because we become affiliated with a highly visible national tournament series. And TORHS wins because more teams will attend their national finals." The Coastal Cup championships will be held in May at the Dream Sports Center in Raleigh, NC. The winner of each division will get an automatic seed into the TORHS National Championships to be held in the summer of 2001. "Coastal Cup is an excellent tournament series," said TORHS Director Lori Rapella. "They have been a leader in the Southeast for a number of years now. We look forward to having the Coastal Cup champions at our national finals next summer."
