    Weekend Games

I just got home and am surprised to see that there isnt much talk about this weekends games. Some big headlines and playoff picture things happened. My team all but locked up 3rd seed by going 8-0 this weekend and 4 of them being against the Minutemen who jinxed there way to a split against the Growl and did the same to the Typhoon. The Phantoms are technically still in the playoff picture even though they have no games left. The Minutemen have a hard schedule ahead, but they shown they can knock off the top teams. I dont know anything about the Inferno but ill find out this weekend, and ill stay away from a certain Comfort Inn!! But they look as if they could squeek in. Thoughts, Predictions???

my only thought is that there was no jinx when they beat us. they beat us hands down and were definitely the better team in that game. that's the beauty of this league...come to play or you will go home with an "L", or two.

Huge games at the Sportsplex this upcoming weekend between the Growl and Typhoon. This should be a great matchup. The Typhoon have gotten excellent goaltending this year, and are always solid in every aspect of the game. Steve Yingling is a terror down low, and will try to use his size against our smaller defenseman. I would expect the Typhoon to try to play a very puck controlled type game against us, and look to capitalize on battles won in the offensive zone. From our view, I'm sure we will be prepared, and ready for war, as this game may have 1st place implications riding on it. I would expect us to fight through the expected body contact, and look for a fast transition through the neutral zone. Taking advantage of power play opportunities will be huge, as each team has excellent personnel, with the man advantage. The Typhoon will have to be very careful, with Sean "sauce" Sullivan killing penalties for us, as he leads the league in shorthanded tallies. The league is starting to come down the home stretch. It will be very exciting to see how teams finish up the season, as desperation sets in for teams like the Inferno and Minutemen, who are fighting tooth and nail for the 4th seed, and for the Growl and Typhoon who will probably end up fighting it out for 1st place. Also, lets not overlook the Lunatics. They will glide in to the playoffs, and then look to score a first round upset, which they can certainly pull off. The Phantoms are on the morphine drip, and will have a lot of praying to do, for them to get in. Let the fireworks begin !!!

Steve, I agree. That is the best part about the league. If your team is playing a good game it does not matter where you are in the standings, you have a shot to win. Best of luck.

It was deffinetly a crazy weekend. a loss a peice for the Growl and Typhoon. We are still trying to move up in the standings even though we locked 3rd up. And we're playing the best hockey we've played all year. we still have the growl and typhoon for our last weekend of the season. and the inferno this weekend. Not sure what will happen but I know we'll be ready for the playoffs. You'd better not suck this weekend Yokes

How about just taking care of the Inferno before looking ahead to the Growl and Typhoon ? LOL

trust me we are not looking past them. i was just saying we have them both in the same weekend to finish off the season. we learned early not to umderestimate anyone in this league. and we know that the inferno are a very tough team in their own rink. we went to overtime with them in our rink in our first game of the year.

Sorry I'm a little slow. You just want us to help you out in the playoff race. so in that case we'll se what we can do.

I personally felt as if the Minutemen were running the score up on us in the 7-6 loss we took to them
