    Second Half of the Season

As far as I can see, there is a race right now in PIHA for the last two spots....Obviously, the top of the heap includes the Growl and Typhoon, and that is not a shock by any means. That leaves the team I play on, the Phantoms, among the rest of the teams, a decent shot to at least get 4th, maybe 3rd. I don't feel it would be fair to speculate on them because of a conflict of interest on my part. I believe the Lunatics are a dangerous team, and whenever Jay is there, they are difficult to play against. The Inferno and Robbins are two teams that can play with anyone in this league, and have proved that early on. The minutemen are looking to get back to the playoffs after going to the semifinals last year. As much as most may disagree with me, I think the key is defense. I think on any given night, most teams can put up at least 10 goals in a big rink. It is the teams that can shut other opponents down with defensive scheming that will ultimately get it done. Other than that, I just hope that there are few hockey companies out there watching this league grow and throw some bones our way in the east....

I agree with you, when you say that a good defensive scheme could be the key to winning some important games. The only problem is, doing that to some teams is like trying to patch up a damn with a band-aid. I think that coaches will become more important to their teams success, as matchups become relevant. The learning process of the first half is over, it's now time to see how smart the players and coaches are. I feel that Inferno team is going to cause problems for someone on their home rink. I just hope it's not us. The Typhoon are a tough bunch, with good goaltending. The Lunatics scare me too, any team with Jay Mazer buzzing around the rink is dangerous. The Phantoms have good coaching, and a few talented guys. They also just got T.J. Plaugher, or at least, I think they got him, he'll give them a dangerous shot on the blueline, and some chippiness. The Minutemen are in my opinion, a year or two away from being a threat. They have a couple of young players (Chris Havelock & Ryan Spatz) that should develop well together, with or without T.J.. As for the Growl, I think we have a pretty good shot of doing well, come playoff time. We have the best G.M. in the league in Anthony Flynn, and the players aren't that bad either. I'll let you guys know how the wheather is in Colorado, come June...lol

Im sorry did i read that right? did you just compliment flynn? that has to be a typo, what with you being new to computers and technology and such... after spending 2 days in a locker room with you guys, i dont remember you having one good thing to say about him, and now he's the best gm in the league... must be the old age... speaking of which, hows the groin? dr. werner recommends at least 2 weeks of rest... as for the weather in colorado, i plan on taking my golf clubs with me when i make the trip...

You read right through the compliment of Flynn, Jake. If I don't say that, he cuts my power play time. My groin is killing me today. Based upon my performance over the weekend, I am now claiming that I hurt it on the very first shift of game 1... As for you bringing your golf clubs to Colorado, just know, that if you need a place to stay, I'm sure Flynn could make the necessary arrangements for you to stay with us anytime. I think you should probably consult with Chris Havelock before rooming with me and Flynner. As you probably heard, someone put his flip flops in the toilet bowl, and I accidentally rained on them. he didn't realize this, when he fished them out. I wonder how they got there in the first place...

REAL funny JV . .real funny . . .i have never been part of so many ridiculous antics as what i was witness too this past weekend from hanging out with those Growls clowns. Good lord . . I had a blast, but I definetley won't forget you "raining" on my sandals jimmy . .one way or another ill get you for that one. its just unfortunate that flynn and mark had to be subject to the "shake off" after I fished them out. (actually that was funny too)

Yes I believe I recieved a phone call from Greg on Saturday night . .amazingly he sounded kind of like JV . .wierd . .but anyway Greg was more interested in you Flynn . .something about that hairless head of yours just turned him on. (for those you not knowing whats going on here, just know that you have to put up with ALOT of tongue-in-cheek type moments when you hang out with Mark, JV and Flynner)

When you say tongue in cheek, which cheek are you referring to? butt cheek?, because I know that you were drunk, and vulnerable to Flynn's nonsense about you becoming a star in this league as a member of the Growl, but to have your tongue in his butt cheek!!!, no wonder Flynn moved you up to the second line on Sunday...

I was just trying to figure out why Flynner was so upset that we had no more road trips to Morristown.. By the way, we play the Phantoms 100 times this weekend, which means my new friend Jake Werner will be in attendance. I hope he brings Betty and Bam Bam along with him...lol, Sorry Jake, I couldn't help myself...

I hope you don't mind me saying that I'd wait till after the game before I ate the sandwich. In case of food poisioning... One day we'll get you to Brooklyn for a Peter Luger steak, you'll throw up at the thought of eating that Pittsburg *censored* ever again. Look forward to seeing you this weekend, kid. None of that going in to a box defense stuff. Tell your coaches that the trip is to long to stand around on the rink, and besides, I don't like so much company in the offensive zone.
