Ive got the status. It is nice and light, and has a decent amount of protection. As a defenseman though, i think its a little lacking, as i tend to dive to block shots and bash into boards on a regular basis. I think I would have liked the matrix...it looks a bit bulkier, but does have the nice built-in cup pocket. Id say the status would be good for a quick defenseman or forward looking for just a little padding in the thighs.
