    Best Floor/Rink in PIHA

I have skated on 3 other floors(Morristown,York and Phantoms) this season other than my home rink(Lunatics rink) and It seem the others have been much slower than ours.Pittsburg's rink is huge and a nice rink just seemed the puck slowed down real fast. York's floor is very uneven with a large hump at center floor and is also very small in area. Also a bit slow skating and puck movement. Morristown is also alot like York with out the hump. At least they have real boards unlike York.

Just wondering what people think about the rinks they have played at and what they like and dislike.

I like ours (Phantoms) the best, simply because it has showers.... I know I'm not alone on this, but there is nothing worse than finishing a road game and having to get into a car, dirty, for a 5 or 6 hour drive.
All the rinks we've played on have had great surfaces except for Richmond.. I loved there facility, it's for sure up for best in the league, but that surface (icecourt) is not my favorite...

agreed the lunatics floor is my favorite to skate on, makes even someone slow seem to go fast. This place has showers too which is a plus cause i don't wanna sit in my own filth for the 3 hour+ ride home. I think that showers are a HUGE factor at a rink and at this level.

Our old rink, extremes, had a great floor too, big and fast, i definitely miss the PIHA games on that surface...

    i'm not slow, i'm patient

i have to agree the sports center is the best, except i didn't play in richmond yet so i can't comment on that rink. the phantom's is second. it's big and a nice facility with showers, but the floor is a lot slower then ours. the inferno's rink is decent but there are no showers. the floor is pretty quick and the size is nice but again it comes back to showers. So again i feel the sports center hs the best overall facility.

Having just played at the Phantoms rink, and having played on pretty much every surface in PIHA or MLRH, I'm seconding the Phantoms as the best rink overall. It's big, the sport court grips, and it's a great facility.

I dislike the dark blue and that place needs better lighting.

lunatics and then the phantoms. we are working on getting our floor situation taken care of. it is really bad. however, ice court should be outlawed in all 50 states!

I'll throw in my 2 cents. Lunatics rink is the best i've skated on. Nice facility, it's a "real" rink. I miss skating there.

After our trip there this weekend, I tend to agree. All of our players loved the Pitt rink. The floor was HUGE, lighting was terrific, it was clean, and was sport court. I don't think many of us are fans of the ice court rinks.
