Revision vs. Rink Rat

well, I had to put the at least try the revisions because of all the hype ive been hearing. I gotta know whats out there beings im opening a store next month. To put this one to rest, i wore the revisions for a whopping 2 PIHA games, couldnt stop, couldnt do anything for that matter. Switched back to rats and the stats came back with them. Hands down, im stickin to rats as I have since they came out. Revisions arent even close to labeda let alone rink rat people.

I have not tried the revisions yet, but I did try the labeda fusionz and am very impressed. I also have used rink rats since they came out, but they had some bad batches a short while ago so i figured i would try out the fusionz. They just might be as good as the rink rats.

Ive used RR for years and love them...However I tried the Revisions and the first set was terriable, slid around etc...But on the second set I got the right set up and the wheels are amazing, best wheels out there by a mile..Its all about getting the right set up of speed and grip for your size for real...The Revisions last 2 times as long as any Hornets Ive ever had and stayed gripper 10 times as long...You need to get the right set up and try out diffrent set ups to find the right one...Its all PP anyway though...

Havent used the Revisions yet but I was checking them out last night and found a nice link to a pic/chart that gives different setup options. Click here for recommended Revision wheel configurations

Re: Revision vs. Rink Rat

I've used rink rats for a while and every couple of weeks i get one that splits through the hub. i only weigh like 155 so it's not like i'm big. i started using revisions last week and they felt awesome. I love the way rink rats grip but if these last longer then i might stick with these. i think the grip is about the same, but it's frustrating to put on new rink rats and a few weeks later need to replace wheels. I got a set of the fusions from someone to try out, and had tons of problems. my bearings didn't fit right, they wobbled and rubbed in a few spots. somthing was just wrong. so i gave them back.

I used the all platinum setup that was supposed to give you "maximum grip" if you were under like 150 lbs..and I still couldn't grip at all. I put two hornets on the back to get me through the rest of the weekend and now im never skating anything but Rink Rat in any game that matters.

i've used rink rats exclusively for as long as they have been available and i really have not had many that have separated from the hub. i play alot and i weigh, well, alot, and i really have not had any problems. the wear and tear is much longer with these than some of the others out there and the performance is unreal. just 2 cents from a big guy.

Re: Revision vs. Rink Rat

I've used both. Went from 1st Gen Dynastys *cough Crap cough cough* to Rats and the change was Ridiculous! Loved them. Then I got a chance to sport some ReVisions and honestly, I think I liked them more. Both of them you have to get used to skating on because of the whole whacky duel density thing... but once you have a couple games in them, they grow on you. At the moment my setup is
Back wheel: RV Bronze
Back Mid: RV Gold
Front Mid: RV Gold
Front: RR Hornet Blue/Red
And this is from an abusive skating defensemen... 6'0, 200lbs.
If I could afford it, I'd have an all Revision setup... but that $10 a wheel thing is a killer.

Re: Revision vs. Rink Rat

Revisions get knocked on alot because they take a few skates to get broke in...At first they are a bit slippery, but after 3-4 skates the are butter best out by far and last longer than anything else Ive ever used including RR and I used to swear by the Hornets....

Yes I know it sounds funny...usually wheels go down hill after the first skate...But with the Revisions its funny the more you skate the better they grip!! LOL I dont understand myself but Ive had a set Ive used 3 times a week for 4 months now and still gripping great...

Thank you for those of you who have purchased or are supporting Revision Hockey. Please visit www.revisionhockey.com and download the wheel matrix chart to view the recommended setup for your weight. The combo is always a good starting point and you can judge from there as to whether you would like more grip or more speed/durability. If there are any questions or warranty issues please contact [email protected] and we would be happy to assist you.

Re: Revision vs. Rink Rat

let me be the first to say, I'm not saying revisions are bad wheels, i was just saying that I couldn't perform on them. A ton of my friends are using them therefore they have got to be a good product. I was just voicing my opinion and wanted to see what other people thought about them...I have hidden agendas Nabeel!! Obviously you know where I went with the feedback I got or you never wouldve heard from me via email. I also tried them on ice court and liked them a lot more. I just couldnt grip on sport court with them. SO once and for all, Revisions are a good product, so is Rink Rat. They're the 2 best wheels out there. HANDS DOWN!!

Re: Revision vs. Rink Rat

I used rinkrats and had my team(kids) using them. I have always torn every wheel I have used within a weekend, and have learned to deal with it. But when some of my kids got wheels from rinkrat that the hubs broke in half in one skate and they didnt seem to care(sent wheels in and never heard from them again)I switched to Revision. Myself I havent torn one wheel in 5 skates now , I would put tears in every wheel in one tournment with the rink rats.....so I am very high on this product now
