Flooring Question

Quick question: the rink I play at is looking to put something down around the rink so that players' wheels do not get chewed up. Currently, they have a very bumpy lightly-painted concrete that chews through wheels. Any suggestions - they're also looking for the easiest and cheapest solution.

Why not stick with concrete but skim it and lay a super fine floated surface pre-coloured then when dry cover with several coats of Polyurethane, or there are plastic tiles with dimples or dents which help the puck run.

best surface available today is "skate court" by all reports....the same company also offers a specific inline hockey surface called "ice court". However from what I have heard the grip and puck movement is just as good on "skate court", whereas the "ice court" has small nubs built into the surface which are hard on wheels and equipment. These were ostensibly to help puck movement, but apparently the puck movement is still excellent on the "skate court" without the nubs and their insuant problems....by all reports a major improvement over "sport court".

There is a polyuretane paint that will work well. It was refered to as a "roll on" surface, but the official name or supplier of the paint is not in my vocabulary, I will research and reply at a later time.
