    Beginner seeking help!

I just moved into a new area recently, and found out that there is a fairly strong following for inline hockey here. I personally have always enjoyed watching hockey, but have never had the chance to play ice hockey because of my previous geographical location. I dabbled with inline hockey when I was younger, but it was nothing more than a few kids with rollerblades and sticks farting around. Given this background, I?d say I?m a complete beginner to ?real? inline hockey, but I still desire to play.

Unfortunately, it would seem my current area is far past my skill and knowledge level, so I am reluctant to play with these individuals (at least just yet). I don?t even have any equipment at the moment! So, I?m requesting some help.

First, where can I learn about the game? What about rules, regulations, and differences between ice hockey? Second, what equipment will I need and where can I purchase said equipment at a good price? I?d like to have some nice equipment because I?d plan to pursue this further, but please keep in mind I?m a complete beginner. Third, are there any crucial basics that I should know before I jump in? Please let me know.

Essentially, any guidance to help me get started would be appreciated. I?d just like to play.

    Thanks!
