Best surface to play on

What's the best surface to play on? Sport Court, Ice Court or other?

I have played on Sport Court, the floor at the old Crystal Palace Las Vegas, and I think its Spider Court. The floor at the Crystal Palace was the best one so far but the other 2 are not as good but are not bad.

sport court is my favorite. You can get comfortable on any of them over time though.

I haven't played on it for a while, but an old-fashioned quality wood floor is my favorite. Nothing like the traction you get there!!

We have this at our outdoor rink, not sure if I like it. Seems a little slick with my Labeda Dynasty wheels. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Doc's in Harrisburg Pa...the rink owned by Charlie Yoder..installed a form of ice court..a recently developed surface...everyone I know that played there in the elite ironmen tournaments they held, claimed it was the best surface they had ever used...fast puck, great grip, low bounce.....whether that's all due to the surface, or whether it's a combination of the surface over a "sprung" wooden floor, I do nor know, but the reviews were all "rave".

Actually his(Charlie Yoder's) surface is not the ice court designed for hockey, but a surface which was designed specifically to be used for quads on rec rinks(low noise good grip), but made by the same company that makes the new "ice court", However "ice court" has advertised it's hockey product citing "Doc's" as an example..even though it's surface is slightly different from what is being sold for hockey floors.

by far the best floor i have skated on. i believe it is called "skate court"but is made by "ice court".

That stuff is hands down ridiculous. If we could get more rinks with that court, it would be a much happier inline hockey world. = )

What's even more interesting is that from someone I have talked to who has played on the new "ice court" as opposed to the "skate court" ie the one(ice court)designed specifically for hockey, there were major complaints on prematurely tearing up wheels and other equipment from the little raised nubs which are supposed to help puck movement...seems like the "skate court" might inadvertently be the best surface....but not actually being marketed for hockey.

What's even more odd is that the company making both surfaces was using "Doc's" as a reference for ice court, along with CJ's comments, when in fact it's not actually the same surface..although the "skate court" at Doc's does everything they (Doc and CJ)claim.

Typical inline hockey scenario...lol.
