Mississauga Roller Hockey-York Inline Merger
The Mississauga IceDogs announced today that the Mississauga Roller League has merged with York Inline to form Triumph Roller Hockey, which will offer leagues, tournaments, the York Mission Triumph elite team program, camps and clinics as well as the Triumph Sport Shop retail store selling roller hockey equipment and sports merchandise. IceDogs owner Mario Forgione will become President and CEO of Triumph Roller Hockey while Devon Cranson will be the Managing Director.
?The merger between Mississauga Roller Hockey and York Inline establishes the largest roller hockey program in Ontario, expanding through the Greater Toronto Area. The comprehensive roller hockey experience that will be provided by Triumph Roller Hockey will result in increased awareness and exposure to the sport for Toronto athletes,? said President and CEO Mario Forgione.
?It?s an exciting time for the sport of roller hockey in Ontario. The 2006 NARCh (North American Roller Hockey Championships) Finals in Mississauga, the newly formed Ontario Minor Roller Hockey Association?s Walter Gretzky Cup Tournament Series, and now the formation of Triumph Roller Hockey, means that players in the GTA will have the access and opportunity to enjoy the sport like never before,? said Managing Director Devon Cranson.
