    wheel destruction

Hi, I am a 215lb guy who skates a couple of times a week and plays in a few tournaments here and there. I skate fairly aggressive and I am killing every companies wheels quickly. I use RinkRat Hornets now, I am tearing them up,but I love the feel and they are an amazing company to deal with. I use 78a wheels and the back wheel is the fastest to be torn. Any suggestions?

    joe,

i'm about 240 and a power skater. i rip gripper milleniums in half in stride. what kind of floor do you skate on normally? i was going to tell you that if you were on a coated wood floor, the Rink Rat World Cup (which is a dual pour outdoor wheel) is awesome for us bigger guys. On sportcourt i use the blue dynasty's and they work fine.

I weight about 240 lbs. as well, skate on sport court all the time. I blow chunks out of Labeda Wheels, broke Hornets in half (both in green and gold), I've been on the Hot Shot now for about 3 weeks and have broken 2 of them. I just had one go on me last night while reffing. Its getting frustrating especially since I've been playing for almost 10 years and have only occasionally had this problem until the last year. Rink Rat has been great and since february I've basically had 3 sets of free wheels but I need to find something I'm not gonna break after 2 weeks of use.

    Im fat, bald, and slow.

I weigh 192 and can move pretty fast. I am using labeda gripper mediums. And they last me forever.. i still use gripper softs for tournaments, but for everything else its those mediums. I skate 5 out of 7 days a week. And they have lasted me a good 3 months. NOw my back wheels are beggining to tear up... but keep in mind how much I skate... Another thing i have done is put medioum wheels on my 2 back wheels and soft on my front... try that

When my son was playing competitive inline, he used the Milleniums for quite a while, the problem was never that they came apart, but that they lost grip before they had any real visible failure. Have had boxes of used Milleniums where you could not see any failure, but the wheels just no longer held the floor like when new...and yes we cleaned them.

Try the purple and gold Rink Rats. They're alittle harder the the green and yellow Hornets. I actually use a combination set up with the Hornets just on the front wheel, the purple and gold on the middle two wheels and I use a red and white Hotshot on just the back. Its by far the best set up I've put together yet.

I've been told that they're pulling the new hornets and changing the hub again. Supposedly the new hubs are "bullet proof".
