InLine Hockey News Back Issues For Sale

    Hi Folks,

I just did my spring cleaning (I know, I know, I'm a bit behind), and I found about eight full sets of InLine Hockey News magazine in a closet. If anyone wants to fill out their collection, or wants to buy the whole set, please e-mail me.

The magazine covered inline hockey from April/May 1995 to January 1998, including in-depth coverage of elite amateur tournaments, Roller Hockey International, Major League Roller Hockey and the Continental Inline Hockey League (remember that one?); player profiles; columns by Chris McSorley, Mark Madden and Steve Bogoyevac; cartoons by Breck Wilson and more.

The magazines are worth buying just for the Buyer's Guides alone... did you know that the following are just a few of the companies that used to make inline hockey skates: Blade Runner, California Pro, Chicago, Dominion, Dunlop, Franklin, Go Sport, K2, Motiv, Riedell, Roces, Rollerblade, Scorpion, Seneca, Ultra-Wheels, U.S. Eagle Sports, Variflex?

(We won't even talk about pucks!)

    Sincerely,

    Hi Folks,

There are a still a few sets of InLine Hockey News remaining for sale. If you know my history, you'll know that my apartments have been known to burn down, and that I accidentally leave valuable objects at hockey rinks, so don't wait... this may be your last chance to hold a complete set of IHN!

The magazine (which I founded and edited) covered inline hockey from April/May 1995 to January 1998, including in-depth coverage of elite amateur tournaments, Roller Hockey International, Major League Roller Hockey and the Continental Inline Hockey League (remember that one?); player profiles; columns by Chris McSorley, Mark Madden and Steve Bogoyevac; cartoons by Breck Wilson and more.

    Hey Rich,
    WOW! What rich history.

I'm curious to know if you still have any stock left on these Inline Hockey News back issues?

    Thanks!

Re: InLine Hockey News Back Issues For Sale

    Hi Jay,

Yes, I have a few sets left. Thanks for asking.

Talking about history, I'm pretty depressed this afternoon. Someone asked me earlier today where they could find a story I wrote a few years back about the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Championships entitled, "Miracle on Plastic." It's nowhere to be found, because it was apparently lost forever when IHC went through a forced server switch last August.

It MUST still exist somewhere on the Internet, but I have been unable to find it after several attempts. It's onie of my favorite pieces over the last 13+ years of IHC and I'll be heartbroken if I don't eventually find a copy of it, along with my article on Patty Twogood's event in Catalina many years ago. Someone must have these articles, and if you could dig them up for me and email them to me, I would be forever grateful.

I also got a lot of static today about not covering the NCRHA finals. Well, that used to be my job and it was given to another man this year and I was not alerted, warned, or thanked by the powers that be in advance. I can't do everything. I am finishing up a 5-year project that I sunk my heart and soul into, and I'm in the final two weeks or so of the process. SOMEONE could have posted updates about the tournament on IHC's Forums. This site is free to all. Give a little back, people. This is getting f-ing ridiculous.

"The Miracle on Plastic" is on the Internet ... I sent a set to you by email, but the for curiousity seekers:

    WE ARE CHAMPIONS!
Teams in four divisions climb to the top at the 2008 NCRHA championships

    by Richard Graham

... The most exciting game of the tournament ("The Miracle on Plastic") was the Sweet Sixteen game between the Stony Brook Seawolves and the UC Irvine Anteaters. Irvine, down 8-3 late in the second period, scored five straight goals to tie the game in regulation, and then scored the winning goal in overtime to stun an excellent Stony Brook team, which was led by the classy Jim Tamburino. The 2007 Division II NCRHA national champions, the Seawolves had moved up to Division I for the 2008 tournament.

    Hey Jay,

You were close, but the story you linked to was connected to many dead links... HOWEVER! Thanks to you getting the ball rolling, I checked out the broken "Miracle on Plastic" URL that you found on the Internet Wayback machine, and lo and behold... Eureka!

I'm going to put it up on IHC's Home Page right now... and save the story on a separate drive!

    Thanks, Jay. You ROCK!
