Mission L-2 stick

Im still iffy about buying a 1 piece stick because if it breaks im out a lot of $ and a stick. A lot of ppl at my rink use the L-2 sticks but i havent gottn a chance to talk to them about how they liek them yet. Anyone here use it??? how do you like it?? How durable are the blades (since they cost around $50)?

L2 is a great stick...I use them and the M2 and love it. What you have to remember is the only true one piece on the market is the CCM Vector. EVERY other stick out there is actually a 2 piece stick like the L2 or Easton Synthesis with a fancy paint job to cover the break between blade and shaft. To test this you could go buy a one piece (Easton, Louisville, Bauer, etc) heat it up in the general area and pull...the blade will actually pop out.

I've played ALOT of hockey (NCAA, semi-pro, etc) and have all the sticks in my basement. I've used and have a couple of each of the Vector, Easton, Bauer, Louisville, Sherwood, Mission. I would recommend the Mission or Easton as my favorates by far for puck feel and control.

What you might want to do and what we do....is get a one piece. When the blade breaks heat it up and pull it out. Then un-do the tape from the top of the stick and actually stick a regular blade in the other end (the top of all sticks are still regular size). Then cut the end where you took out the original blade and cut it to fit you, tape it and....presto you have a perfectly good shaft, upside down no less. I have about a dozen of these from broken one pieces and they work great.

Of course if it break in the middle of the shaft your in trouble either way...hope this helps.

the only thing holding me back from buying it was that it wasnt light. I usually use my easton ultralight or z-bubble shaft which seem a lot loghter then this stick. Not sure tho because i might just not be used to it

Ultra light was my go to stick for years...love those shafts. There isn't a major difference between the weight of the two shafts, the difference will be in the blade you put in the end. From my experence the major weight difference comes from the blade. The difference of a couple hundred grams is really nothing. The L2 is comparable in weight to pretty much any other shaft, and lighter than a fair amount of them.
