MLRH DC?

Why didnt the DC team shop up for there game this weekend? Will there be any repercutions? How is MLRH doing its playoffs this year and where?

Yokes, we had 7 skaters and a goalie (out of a 22 man roster) to go down and play; but 2 showed up down there. Lots of "excuses" and people were "called into work" at the last minute. We were fined and I think out of the playoffs even if we somehow make it. Playoffs will be at the higher seeds rink, top 4 teams make the playoffs.

If you had 7 skaters and a goalie, why would you not go?

Half the games played this year had a team with 8 or fewer.

That's the question I keep asking everyone else that didnt go..... 2 guys actually showed up, the other 6 didnt. I still have only heard back from 2 of the missing 6.

IMO the travel is spread out too far and the schedule was thrown together last minute, not to mention it runs the same exact time as PIHA... even my own team (philly rage) hardly ever have a full bench sometimes we do and win 17-6 and then the next week we play the same team and only 4 guys show up and we lose 16-7... i don't know, not to bash the league, but these games are awful... both to play in and watch...

i play cause i love to skate but as far as long term is concerned i do not see the point of all this travel and having conflicting schedules ... maybe someone can help me out here?

As someone posted a few months back. The ideal situation is to have 1 league split up into 3 divisions. Benny handling the New England division, Charlie handling the East division and Bill handling the S. East division. With one BIG bracket style playoff to decide a champ. Keep dreamin right.

Because history tends to repeat itself. This the second team suspended from MLRH play with the same specific person coaching, just because they didn't feel like showing up...

I guess the guy coaching is just an ass then and has done nothing to help the sport! Until the DC area can field a team that is committed, it doesnt matter who manages it. I guess nice guys finish last. Plus, what is the incentive to play, really? In life we all have priorities and MLRH is not one, correct? On paper, we had the best team in the league, but with PIHA, TORHS, and the ECRHA, we never had our "top" team.

on paper had the best team? you guys have a good team i would not say the best... NY rockers are stacked with good players, and the Philly rage are me and all my boys from the wolves, i believe that you guys def would make a run though.

i can tell you this though, i sure wish you guys had a full team when you came up to play us the second time... because i know it wouldve been a heck of a game, and i felt bad you guys only had like 5 guys, and correct me if i am wrong, but you were the only regular from the original roster?

Of the 5, 3 were original roster. I didnt want to play this season, but did a few time, and we picked-up a player from Adam. A lot of people never knew our full roster of players that said they would play, but whats on paper and on the court are two different things. If things stay the way that they are, we probably wont be around next MLRH season. Good luck with the rest of this season.
