    CCM Vector PF8's

I got my skates and WOW!!! I LOVE these things!! So light and they fit Great!! I am a little sore from skating in them for the first time, but I forgot what it was like to skate in a boot that is Stiff!! It makes skating so effortless!! My Tour 962's are so weak from age, but still the most comfortable skate I have ever owned!!

I am thinking about baking these PF8's. Has anyone baked a pair of these and what were the results?

    Thanks!!

I have no experience with these skates, but I would just contact CCM and see what they say about baking.

I don't know if you can bake 'em but I broke them in the old fashioned way of just skating as much as possible. The only pain I had was it cut into my ankle a bit but that's because I had low cut socks. I'd say just keep skating in 'em 'cause personally I think baking skates causes premature breakdown.

They claim it's ok to bake them, but I think that can prematurely break a skate down, but each skate is different.

I'm having no trouble breaking mine in the old way - glad you like them.

That's why alot of companies are now stating to bake the skates a maximum of twice. I've known people to bake skates 4-5 times, and it does break them down in a hurry. My local place of play has a non working oven, so I've just used the heat gun to warm up the problem areas a little and then skate for a little bit in them and it seems to help some.

i baked mine, but the shop i had it done at used a ski boot oven rather then the hockey one. they said the logic beghind this was that the heat is directed only into the inside of the boot and thus it lessens the effect of baking on the composition of the boot.

anyways i had no break in time whatsoever they were perfect from the moment i put them on. first skates ive ever had without blisters from break in.

    fantastic skates!!!!!
