Here are the awards and results from the Rec Selects tournament that took place this past weekend, February 12 & 13 @ Skatezone, Lake Worth, Florida.

Fair, Competitive, Competition is the goal for the Rec Select Tournament Series. If the past tournaments results are any indication, then we are on the right path. 3 of the 4 Championship games were decided by 1 goal.

In the 10un division the Wolverines got 2 goals and an assist from division MVP Jesse Sardina to knock off the talented Titans. The Wolverines upset the Titans 5-4 despite being outshot 20-18.

In the 12u division the RinkRats used a well balanced attack to hold on for a 6-5 win over the Thunderblades, who had mounted a late rally only to fall a little short. Brandon McNeal and Brady Vail led the T-Blades offensively throughout the tournament. Captain Danny Worth was the hero for the RinkRats with 3 goals in the Championship game.

In the 14u Championship the Bulldogz relied on some big saves by Preston Rogers, and Joshwa Martinez's 3 first period goals as they held on for a 5-4 win over the young but relentless Outlaws. The Outlaws outshot the Bulldogz 22-19. In the 17u division, the Punishers scored 3 quick goals to open up the 2nd period that proved to be the difference in a 9-6 win over the Cooper City Cowboys. Emilio Cevallos was credited for the game winner for the Punishers, Nick Altieri had 3 goals for the Cowboys , who were outshot 29-22.

10u-Champions-Suniland Wolverines. Finalist-Skatezone Titans. MVP-Jesse Sardina, Wolverines. MVG-Paul Miriani, Titans.

12u-Champions- Westin Rinkrats. Finalists-Port St. Lucie Thunderblades. MVP-Nick Pasley, RinkRats. MVG-Timmy Wiltrack, Thunderblades

Rec.14u- Champions-Suniland Bulldogz. Finalists-Westin Outlaws. MVP-Joshwa Martinez, & D.J. Gaudet, Bulldogz. MVG-Preston Rogers, Bulldogz

17u-Champion-Westin Punishers. Finalists-Cooper City Cowboys. MVP-Cory Massinllo, Punishers MVG-Bret Duncanson, Cowboys
