Exciting ECRHA Action Continues
Great Attendance Highlights All-Star Weekend
February 10, 2005
The action never stops in the Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (ECRHA). Just one week after holding the largest regular season event in the NCRHA, the ECRHA travels deeper into the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to hold an event at the Susquehanna Sports Center in Lemoyne, PA.
This weekendâ??s event features premier match-ups across all three divisions, beginning with a doubleheader between the SUNY-Buffalo and University of Maryland Division I and B squads Saturday morning.
At 7:45 AM, the B teams start the action with the 22 nd ranked SUNY-Buffalo B team facing off against the 24 th ranked Maryland B squad. Immediately following the B division game the 23 rd ranked SUNY-Buffalo A team takes the court against the 29th ranked Maryland A squad. These games promise to kick this tournament off with a bang.
As the action continues Saturday when the 11th ranked Shippensburg University Raiders squares off with 15th ranked Millersville University Saturday at 12 noon in a great Division II game.
Be sure not to leave early Saturday as the Wings of SUNY-Buffalo look for another upset win. Just one week after handing top-ranked Suffolk Community College their first loss of the season, at 2 PM the Wings are hoping for success against the 8th ranked Towson Tigers.
Sundayâ??s action features eight games lead by a Division I game between SUNY Buffalo and the 20th ranked Scarlet Knights of Rutgers University in great top 25 action.
When all is said and done, there will be 27 games played on the weekend amongst the 13 teams attending the event. The tournament provides fans with a great opportunity to fill a weekend free of football with exciting collegiate roller hockey action.
The ECRHA Board of Directors would like to thank all those who attended the ECRHA All-Star Weekend Event in Feasterville, PA last weekend. It was a very successful weekend all around. Not only were the stands at the SportsPlex
packed for the three ECRHA All-Star games, but they also remained full throughout the hours of 2-9 p.m. All the staff and players had a great time at this event and were delighted to hear the in-game music from a DJ high above the rinks and an announcer during the All-Star games.
During the All-Star Games, Corey Calajoe of Penn State University was awarded a
certificate recognizing him as the first recipient of the ECRHA Jeffrey MosensonScholarship. ECRHA President Rebecca Breitel and Mr. David Mosenson, Jeffreyâ??s father, were on hand to present the certificate.
The ECRHA Regional Championships return to the SportsPlex in Feasterville, PA the weekend of March 4. Make sure to keep informed through the http://www.ECRHA.net Web site for all the details of the championship event.
