    PIHA

It's almost February and I haven't seen or heard anything about PIHA except the start of a new website. Any news?

most of the teams are rolling pretty well, the website i'm sure will be up and running shortly

all teams i believed have had their try outs with some teams already having a final roster, some still in the process of making one

i look forward to the upcoming season, it should be fun

I would assume he will be signed by a team; he's too good a player not to be.

    PIHA Information:

The season is set to begin on February 11th. This season there will be six squads. This is a decrease in teams from last seasons eight, but this is a trend we are seeing throughout inline hockey. Several mergers have occured and should strengthen the league, making it even more competetive then last years league. The six squads each have their own pro and minor league squads, following PIHA's traditional pro/minor format. The teams are as follows:

Typhoon (York, Pa - The Blast)
Lunatics (Harrisburg, PA - Susquehanna Sports Center)
Growl (Feasterville, PA - The Sportsplex)
Rage (Downingtown, PA - United Sports Training Center)
Minutemen (Morristown, NJ - Instant Replay)
Inferno (Pittsburgh, PA - Rink name)

The format of this season is some what different. Every event will be back to back games. The length of each game will be half that of a former game, creating more total games, while increasing upsets and decreasing blowouts. The league website is quite a project and will be up soon. It works off of a database which takes some time and serious effort to put together, look for it soon.
I will do my best to answer any other questions that I have answers for.

I spoke with Brian and to the best of my knowledge he will not be playing this season. The league will certainly miss him and I hope that he has a change of heart and ends up somewhere soon.

that sucks for morristown, they have way too much traveling to do, and they lost most of their players

    Re: PIHA

Travel will be tough for everyone as it is much more spread out this season for sure. However there will be less travel as each team will only have 8 road events and 8 home events, yet another reason the league wanted to have the double headers.
I don't know for sure, but I expect that Morristown picked up several of the Extremes players from last season. I expect that they will be strong and there minor league team was exceptionally good.

Hope to see him somewhere soon. Watching him and John P. last season was a pleasure. Good luck this season.

Though we will miss the excitement Brian brought to the rink. The play making ability of Sean Sullivan and Ron Tracy together will be something to see for sure. Not to mention that Johnny P will be returning with last seasons scoring leader Jimmy Vivona feeding him the puck all season. Should be a lot of fun at the Plex this season. Growl fans have a lot to be excited about.
