    CHRL Wrapup

I am glad you have your new lap top and are back in the business of covering the tournaments. The CHRL coverage although a bit later than normal is very well done.

Nicely done Rich...but you forgot to mention me! Kidding...

One note on the CRHL's all tournament team. I find it hard to swallow that a player that can receive a 3 game suspension for cross-checking a player in the face, as well as that was involved in numerous other altercations, should receive honorable mention. There isnt room for that kind of play in our game, and that player should NOT be honored, no matter how stellar the rest of his game play was.

    Just my $.02

    Chloro,

What are you talking about? I didn't see this in the wrap-up?

In the wrap-up, Rich re-printed the "All Tournament Team" selections made by CRHL. One of the players displays extreme acts of unsportsmanlike conduct like i mentioned, and Im fairly outraged that he can be honored in such a manner. Let just say that I played against him a few times during the season, and his suspension at nationals WASNT his first. There was one at regionals...one during the regular season...

    Ahh, I see....

It's weird, even at the inline Tourney here in Kissimmee players got really aggressive and hell I eve saw a slashing to the back of the legs!!
I have no problem mixing it up but it seems to me like this sort of play still goes on although as I understand it so far, in inline hockey play is not supposed to be as aggressive (checks, etc). What's most dissapointing is that some of the players got so worked up that they would not shake hands after the game.

There's a large difference between being aggressive and physical contact. In roller hockey, there is supposed to be no checking...ie hitting another player with the body. Poke checking and small slashes with the stick to the legs arent illegal....its aggressive play meant to disrupt the other player's game. However, hockey is a game....after the final whistle sounds, everything should be left at that. Refusing to shake hands after a game is a terrible act of bad sportsmanship, and I feel that it should be punished by league and tournament officials....its sets a really bad example to any younger players, as well as media persons, that may be watching.
