The NCRHA is proud to announce the 2005 NCRHA Winter Invitational, to be held in Wixom, Michigan at Total Roller Hockey January 7-9. The NCRHA will welcome 24 teams representing all eight regional leagues across all three divisions to the Detroit suburb, which also will host the MCRHL Championships in 2005.
The selection process for the tournament will be as follows. First, on November 1, each Member Organization will select three of their teams to be invited to participate in the tournament. To accept the invitation, the team must notify the league within 5 days, and submit the entry fee within two weeks of being invited. If any of these 24 teams declines their nomination, teams will be invited based on how they finished in the 2004 Collegiate Roller Hockey National Championships in Division I, Division II, and Division III. There will be a more detailed procedure for 2nd and 3rd round team selection, should there still be spots available.
Teams will be guaranteed three games, and 16 of the 24 teams participating will play at least four games. As the NCRHA will not be recognizing games played at NARCh Winternationals as exhibition games, this will be a great opportunity for teams to play interregional games, with a chance to win an exciting tournament, at a very affordable cost, to be announced later this month in the registration packet for the event.
Total Roller Hockey is a two-rink facility with a restaurant in the facility and with hotels nearby. It is located approximately 30 miles from the Detroit Wayne County Airport, and a short distance from downtown Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. Over the next few weeks, the NCRHA will be releasing information on activities in the area to give teams a chance to enjoy themselves off the rink as well as information on hotels and tournament format.
