Re: Tryouts and Website
Great Site. I watched your club play at Nationals and also the Local NTB team as well. The 16U team was sick at NARCH. Watched them play almost every game and overcome some adversities. Props to them for winning the GOLD NARCh Division Championship.
TORHS 2004 Nationals I also watched the 10U and 12U compete. The 10U winning the Division 2 Gold Medal. Props to the 10U Team.
In your news and info you mention that Andrew Romano won the Mission Player of the Year for 8U. Did he win that with Team Breakaway for playing 8U?
Nick Masters and Andrew Romano both were part of Team Breakaway when they won the TORHS Winter Games and followed that up with the 2004 Division 1 TORHS 8U National Win as well. Nicky Masters won the MVP from Winter Games and the 2004 TORHS Nationals MVD while Andrew won the MVD at the Winter Games. They also won the 2 on 2 as 8U players representing Team Breakaway and were part of the All-TORHS Team at the Nationals representing Team Breakaway.
Nick Masters, Andrew Romano and Nick Minerva were the Team Breakaway kids that paired up with Tour Smoke for that combo Smoke / Breakaway Team to be runner ups in the 2004 NARCh 8U Platinum Division. Winning Silver Medals in Platinum is a huge thing considering that the West Coast usually are the top teams.
Both Nick Masters and Andrew Romano played at the Highest Level of play for Nike Team Breakaway always participating in the Division 1 play and were a big back bone of that team. Most of their accomplishments for the 2004 season was with Nike Team Breakaway. You seem to be show-casing them especially Andrew.
With CJ Yoder coaching the 10U team this year does that mean that Andrew and Nick are leaving the Breakaway Team and playing full time for the Gladiators?
Props to Nicky and Andrew for a GREAT YEAR as 8U in the Atom Division. Nicky Masters always seems to be in Andrew Romano's shadow and is not given enough respect for his play. Andrew made the Mission Child of the Year but Nicky was deffinately the dominate force in the 8U division. Props also to Pedro and the Nike Team Breakaway Team for HUGE Accomplishments with these boys.
Mike Quaile was asked by Team Breakaway Coaches to played at NARCH with Tour Smoke because one of the 4 boys that was supposed to play as a Smoke / Breakaway Group at NARCH was hurt and couldn't attend the Nationals. Congratulations Mike for being a part of the 2004 NARCh Mite Platinum Championship. Props to Tim Wells, John Badalamente & Pedro Cancel for Coaching that Championship Team. This was a HUGE Win considering that the Blast was the 2004 TORHS National Winners and that Smoke / Breakaway mix beat the Blast without any problems.

Re: Tryouts and Website
Hi, EMANON (sorry to address you so impersonally but you didn't identify yourself and I'm afraid I don't know who you are - I'm kind of new to this board),
I'm one of the Jr. Gladiators moms, and I did much of the work for the new site. Do keep in mind that the site is still under development, so it's possible I missed a few things. We decided to post the link to the test site this week because so many people have been calling about this weekend's tryouts and we wanted a central place to point them to.
We are certainly very proud of Andrew and Nicky. Who wouldn't be? They aren't just great athletes - they're incredible kids. They achieved a great deal this year as key members of both the Jr. Gladiator 10As and Team Breakaway 95, so it probably does seem as if we're showcasing them. But we're proud of every one of our kids - Andrew, Nicky, all of them.
I believe Nicky and Andrew are playing for the Jr. Gladiators again this year.
If you honestly think Nicky Master would allow himself to remain in anyone's shadow, you don't know him personally. ;-)
As for the rest of your comments . . . uh, thank you? I'm not sure what your motivations are. I'm kind of new to this travel hockey business (this was my son's first year of travel roller hockey) so perhaps you know a few things that I don't. Are you inferring, for example, that Mike Quaile didn't contribute to the Tour Smoke win at NARCH because he was called at the last moment? I hope I'm misreading your post. Mike's an incredible athlete, and doesn't deserve that kind of nonsense. If I am misreading you, my sincere apologies.
If you have any technical or accuracy corrections for the site, please feel free to send them to Nanette at: [email protected]. I'm sure she'll feed them to me.
Best regards,
Cheri Zubak (aka Mrs. Z, aka Andy's mom)

Re: Tryouts and Website
Not knocking Mike Quaile. He is a very good player and a very funny kid. Just saying that he also got an oppertunity to play NARCh because of the Breakaway Team who pulled him along with them. But deffinately not a knock on Mike. Just giving Props where they belong!

Re: Tryouts and Website
Hey, again,
Yeah, Mike's a hoot, isn't he? He's one of my favorite kids.
