Looks like it's ice hockey for me
I've talked to epuck.com and Hockey Heaven (looks to be a big hockey shop in FL) and they both shut down on me
Their only option is to bulid a skate from a ice boot, however the shop in FL mentioned that the blade/chassis would be short and throw my cornering off, etc.
I suppose I could find a recreational skate but if they're anything like my Rollerblades I will be in pain-city.
I even asked if the manufacturers took custom orders and he said no because of the blade.
Sucks to have big hammers:P

Re: Looks like it's ice hockey for me
You could always try contacting CCM, Mission, Bauer, etc by yourself. Mission would definitely be a good one to contact, as they also make a pretty decent chassis. Dont quit yet...im sure there's somethign that can be done. The shop is probably right in saying that the chassis might be a bit short...like the boots, they stop making em once they hit size 12 or so.
If you do decide to go with rec skates, you might consider K2's...they have a softer boot which is extremely comfortable, yet supportive. They also used to make some hockey skates, so you could check that lead out as well.
Here's hoping!

Re: Looks like it's ice hockey for me
Thanks Chloro!
I appreciate the support. I can't believe how bum out this made me
I just finished emailing Mission (I've been drooling over the skates). Hopefully they will do custom work. I also checked out k2's webpage and didn't see any hockey skates. I did see some K2 skates and they looked pretty comfortable.

Re: Looks like it's ice hockey for me
If 15 is your shoe size then you are probably a 13 1/2 - 14 in a Bauer Skate and their rocker chassis is fairly long in the wheelbase and might work out. CCM conventional Tacks fit even bigger, probably a 13 or 13 1/2.
I'm 6'3" and wear a 13 1/2 shoe but can easily wear a 12 Bauer or 11 1/2 Tack ice boot.
The chassis on thier standard size 12's can't be that much too short if they are mounted by a knowledgable pro.
Missions come from Asia so the chances of getting one to fit would seem pretty remote.
Don't count out Tour for good North American made leather boots that fit big. Forget the carbon fibre stuff.
Also if your looking for a chassis, Rike made a titanium one and Fila used it as well that is extremely long in the wheelbase. You'll have to look around as their out of production, but I've seen a couple in high end sports shops within the past coupe of months

Re: Looks like it's ice hockey for me
Hi,
Thanks for your post. According to an online seller, Tour stopped making 13s this year. Saying they didn't have enough demand. This online shop says they sold a ton though *shrug*. So far I've only been able to find a 2001 CCM 252 in a 13.

Here's your SIZE 15'S!
I believe the only skate that you will find that big is the BAUER SUPREME 3000...
Now.. you just need to find out who actually has that skate and size in stock... At the least. You should be able to call BAUER and they can do a search of which stores that they shipped that size out to.
The BAUER size 15 would fit a regular shoe size of 16... so you may need a size 14..
Hope this helps... there is always a way to help someone... j-bo

Re: Here's your SIZE 15'S!
J-bo,
Hellz yeah! I did not know that. I'll jot this down. This is a big help.
Boy, you know...I'll admitt size 15 is large but it's not that uncommon. I mean anything bigger than 15 and you start roaming out of the norm but damnit we need to have this sport open to the borderline humans eh!?
Thanks

Re: Here's your SIZE 15'S!
I forgot to mention.... I think this was made in 1998 (the inline model at least)...but... Bauer does make this in an Ice skate...and I would think that they could mount a frame for ya... just contact Bauer... ask questions..j-bo
