    Hi Mike,

As IHC has no bearing lube advertisers, I suppose I can get away with telling you that there are tons of bearing lubricants that will do the job just fine. I don't know that there is any "best" lubricant, because it would be pretty difficult to determine the difference in speed -- due to the bearing lubricant they used -- between two top inline hockey players with similar skating skills.

That said, I'm sure there is an IHC reader out there who will give you a specific brand name

I love the Yzerman curve...its the one i use now. As far as shafts go, there are different stiffnesses....with somone your size, id recommend a stiffer stick, something like a 100 or so on the Easton Scale. Um...the UltraLite seems to the most popular easton...i prefer the Mission Danglers. They come in a rounded shaft(called biomorphic), as opposed to the old-style square...smaller, fits nicely into your hand. In those, a 10-7 or higher would be good.

Oh yeah...bearing cleaner and lube. For bearing cleaner, the citrus degreaser found at like bike stores works great. I got a flush bottle from TeamParadise back in the day. You remove the shield from your bearings, put them in this holder, full the bottle with degreaser, put the holder in, and shake it around for a while...all the dirt/grime settles to the bottom. As far as lube goes, its all pretty much the same. Id go with something inexpensive, as if you are playing on dirtier surfaces, youre going to need to do it more frequently.
