Anyone hear the results of USA vs. Spain tonight????
Spain is a very strong team, losing only 2-1 to Canada, and only 3-2 to czech Republic..so anything could happen.....Not yet posted on Canada Inline.com

3-0 USA
Thanks..saw it earlier this am..was looking last night as it was not yet posted.
Team USA has another tough one against Team Italy, who has played everyone close as well. Team Italy has the leading scorer from the preliminary action...a player who was born in Italy, but emmmigrated to Canada at age 2 and learned his hockey there...This player played briefly for the Winnipeg Jets before moving back over to Italy to play pro ice and Inline, as well as for Team Italy, ice and inline both....Jason Cirone
Team Italy has beaten Spain, Czech Republic, and France, with their only loss at the hands of Team Canada..3 -1...Team USA had best have their game face on for this one...game scheduled for 9:00 pm tonight.
I am curious why all the games seem to be so low scoring. How long are the games and do they play with any rules that are differnet from normal tournament play?
Have you checked out the Women's scores? 6 games each and Cananda and USA havent had a goal scored on them yet...cant wait to see them face off

The FIRS/ CIRILH Rules of the Game, indicate 2x 20 minutes.
And where teams finish with equal points and gaol difference becomes a factor in the placements, it is goals against that are taken into consideration.
As became apparent in Pisek last year this can have a dramatic effect on those teams that don't read the rule book correctly!

yeah canada and usa really dont seem to have had a lot of competition yet. any1 no the scores in the womens semi finals??? i reckon czech will have given usa a good game in those....still gonna b usa va canada tho!! and i rekon usa will scrape it in the final...hope they do anyways!
the score that seemed crazyiest to me was canada mens 1 korea mens 0....that seems absurdly low and close!
Could have been a forfeit...
yeah probably i didnt think of that....makes u wonder why a team that has travelled so far would forfeit what most would see as a game of a liftime tho
The Korea game was a forfeit and tonight Canada beat the Czechs 7-0
and the USA beat Italy 3-2 in overtime, Ernie Hartlieb getting what most thought was a contoversial goal, After a usa player hammered an Italian and no call. I thought the refs made the right decision not calling a penalty.
USA / CAnada final Thursday at 6pm

Good lick Mike, but i have to root for the US.
Goalies do it better with their eyes closed!!
Thank God Someone Was Nice Enough To Put Me On Their Team!
I believe the nets are alot smaller than regulation nets too.

The the rule governing the net size changed back in I believe it was 1998. That was from the USARS rule book..which I assume follows FIRS rules. After that the official nets could be from 42" high by 68" wide(old size) up to regular ice hockey size of 48" x 72".
Normally you do not see the small nets used any more here in the USA, but in the mid to late nineties most nets were the smaller ones for USARS...now USARS/AAU/FIRS. It may be that for international play that the smaller nets are still being used.
Thanks for the info!!! A few inches can make a big difference to a goal scorer. Does anyone know if the 20min periods are running clock or stop time?
The regular rules are running time, with stop time during the last two minutes of a game that has a two goal or less differential..however not sure how they are doing it at the World Championships.
