    Pucks?

Does anyone know where I can get inline hockey pucks really cheap (like 3 bucks a piece or so)?

    Re: Pucks?

as much as i hate inlinesports.com, and i truly hate them, they have a deal for $3.50/ea when you buy 100. don't know if you need that many and hope you arent in a hurry as they'll probably take a week or two to ship them (hey counting 100 pucks takes a while) but it's not a bad deal. maybe someone else can offer you something similar if you order in bulk.

Visit your local Play it Again Sports retailer. I believe they are in every major city, and they do sell some crappy inline pucks. I don't know the price, but they must be cheap cause they're not that great, put good enough for practice.

i was in my play it again the other night and you're right, thier pucks are crappy, at least the ones with the play it again logo, and they were still $5.99/ea. i doubt, unless you buy in bulk, you're ever going to find them less than $6.00 or so. if someone knows of any, i'd like to know as well. like i said, as much as i hate to steer business towards inlinesports, the 100 @ $3.50/ea is a good deal. maybe you could go in with a few buddies or teammates and split it up.

Just curious, but why do you hate inlinesports.com so much? (I'll probably never shop ther, but just curious...)

    Re: Pucks?

i've posted this before but i ordered some skates and paid extra for 3 day shipping as i'm all the way accross the country, they waited 3 days to ship them, and then shipped them ground so the took almost two weeks to arrive. it took me several e-mails to get them to say they'd refund the extra i paid, which they never did. on top of that, one of the skates arrived with no laces. i gave them another shot because they had a good deal on a pckage for my youngest son. i ordered it at the very end of november and it was supposed to arrive on the 12/11. ups's tracking looked odd but i figured it was due to the holidays and didn't think anything of it, when it didn't arrive on the 11th, i called, and it was never shipped. 12 days after i ordered and my package was still in thier store. luckily it was for x-mas so i got it on time, but i'd have been screwed if it was for a b-day, or something i needed for a tournament, or something to that effect.
much the opposite, i order from epuck on tuesday, i have my gear on thursday, friday at the latest. of course, i'm closer to them butwhen i order in the morning, ny gear is out the door that afternoon. same with peranis.

    Hi Headhunter,

Does anyone else question why inline hockey pucks are so egregiously expensive? Sure, there is an initial production cost and material costs, but come on, shouldn't prices drop SOMEDAY? Especially considering there are so many models of pucks on the market? I am coming to believe that product manufacturers are killing the golden goose -- the ability of inline hockey players to afford the sport.

    Re: Pucks?

My problem was worse with inlinesports.com. I bought two sticks a pair of skates, a puck, and a powerplug. Well I paid for 3 day shipping. They didn't send the order for two weeks. This was after about 6 or 7 long distance phone calls. Their online policy says if something is out of stock they will call next day and tell you and offer a sub. Not only did I not receive the phone call, they only told me what was happening on the fourth call. Their "computer was down" for about 4 straight days, and they "never received the order", until someone told the truth. I still paid for 3 day shipping, no refund, and I didn't get the sticks I wanted. They did "upgrade me for the trouble" but one of these had a split in the shaft. I put my weight on it while skating for the first time and kept going as I heard "CRACK!". Do Not Order from these people. On the exact opposite though epuck.com is great, nice service, fast, cheap, etc. I have also hear good things about hockeygiant.com, but I have no personal experience.

maybe thier computer is up and thier reading this. but honestly, even though inlinesports has great prices, epuck will match them no questions asked. i have heard good stuff about hockeygiant as well. i just ordered some ice skates from bargainsports.net and wasn't disappointed. they didn't arrive with the cajun spices like from epuck, but shipping was only $5 and they arrived pretty quick. thier selection isn't the best though.

The spices rule! I've bought so much stuff from ePuck they sent me a nice big bottle of the spices they throw in each order. I sprinkle that stuff on EVERYTHING (except my Crunch Berries cereal).

    Re: Pucks?

yeah, they are louisiana, and have this whole cajun thing going on. they only sent me these itty bitty packets (still better than nothing) but the other guy said they sent him a bottle. of course, i didn't order much on that order. someone else on here said they sent him mardi gras beads, and normally i'd think that was a joke, i believe it with them. trust me, if they have what you want, you can't go wrong with them (damn, i'm starting to sound like j_bo)

    Re: Pucks?

    Hi Rich,

I heartily agree about the price issue. When you can get ice pucks for a dollar, you definitely see that inline pucks are overpriced. Especially the IDS puck, it has been in production for awhile and they are still at least $5 everywhere you look, and who is going to buy 100 pucks at a time? NO one that I know.
