  1. hockey player lost snowboarding

Hi everyone--my old teammate and friend has had quite an accident in California. He was lost for a week in the mountains and ended up having to get both bottoms of his legs removed from frost bite. Eric Lamarque, he played Pro Beach for a season--played NCAA Div 1 ice hockey at Northern Michigan University and olympics for France. Here's how anyone can help www.nmu.edu/alumni/wnn/wnn3-08-04.htm-. it was also on msnbc web site as well. I will raffle off my old RHI game worn jerseys to help him out-let's help out a player-Tony Szabo

    Former Wildcat continues to recover

It's a story that's making headlines across the country: Former hockey player lost in the wilderness.

Eric LeMarque '90, an NMU Wildcat hockey player, 1986-90, was snowboarding in the mountains of California when he became lost.

He spent a week trying to survive in the wilderness, eating pine needles and digging snow caves. It is an amazing story of survival.

LeMarque was finally rescued but not before frostbite had set in. Surgeons removed LeMarque's feet just below the ankles.

"I feel rich. I've never been a happier man than I am right now," said Eric LeMarque, 34, a former member of the French Olympic hockey team. "God has saved me," added Lemarque, speaking from a wheelchair during a news conference at the Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital.

A medical foundation has been set up in Eric's name.

For those details, contact Sherman Oaks Hospital Foundation at (818) 817-3288

Cards and letters can be sent to:

    Eric LeMarque
    Sherman Oaks Hospital

    Hi Tony,

Great idea! If you can take digital pictures of the jerseys, I'll post the photos on the IHC Home Page. Let's help Eric Lemarque as much as we can -- I'm hoping his incredible attitude toward life can rub off on all of us.
