Girdle suggestions-Thanks
Thanks for all the suggestions, except for Titan-55. I'm going with the MBP girdle, definitely a steal at Peranis.com,(special thanks to Dave44). The Mission line looked good, but the Bauer seemed to be the best in the lot, especially for the price.
As for Titan-55, bantam hockey. When you get alittle older I would suggest getting a protective girdle. You may fancy yourself as being tough, but when you start playing with the big boys a direct slapshot will give you more than a small bruise.

LOL!!! Headhunter, too bad you didn't take my advice, but whatever suits your fancy is cool! As for you saying when you start playing with the big boys, a dircet slapshot doesn;'t leave just a small bruise! Well, I have played a little bit of u18 and some D-1 and have been hit with shots from Jr.A ice players, I know it hurts, and I have got some where I could hardly move when I got off the floor, but when I get back on the pain goes away, you don;t even notice it when you are playing! Anyways, hope you like the new girdle! Good Luck!

No Offense, but one day ur gonna regret being such a harda@@. I suppose u dont play with a helmet, and while ur at it why bother with shin pads. Even with pads i still get the bumps and scrapes that go with the game, but anyone with sense tries to minimize the damage done to their body. You're always gonna be slashed and you're always gonna take shots in places u dont want to. But it doesn't make u any less of a man to wear a girdle, it just makes u smarter.

Glad I could be of assistance! Besides being lightweight and super-protective (trust me when I say it won't hamper your skating), it's easy to remove the padding because it's WASHABLE!! Nothing worse than a stinky girdle.

Man, that was funny, never once did I say that it made you less of a man to not wear one, I was only stating my preference, I played 4 years with a girdle, and I started without one last year, and I liked it better, and as I said, whatever suits your fancy, I think its great that people wear the things, but they aren't for me AT THE MOMENT!!!

talk about funny, imagine someone unfamiliar with the sport, wandering in here and reading a bunch of men agruing about wearing girdles.

"talk about funny, imagine someone unfamiliar with the sport, wandering in here and reading a bunch of men agruing about wearing girdles."--better than garter belts and hose!
Tough debate here; alot of good points made. Whether you wear a girdle or not, you can't argue against the fact that wearing girdle sucks. No one says in the locker room," I can't wait the put on my heat-retensive, movement-restricting, albeit protective girdle!" At least, I hope no one is saying that. Defensemen need it for bumping a grinding, and forwards need it to take the whacks and hacks, but do you really need one when you playing against the Rochester Rejects, who do the "hokey pokey" in between periods to draw attention away from their super-bad hockey skills?-- NO! (I'm not refering to any teams in Rochester in particular, I just need an "R" city; "r" for rejects).
I think alot of players, including myself, put the girdle on when we feel we need it.
