Wow!. Marples bench is deeper than I thought. A big win with half a team. Any other scores to post? Nothing yet on league site.

From what I hear, the Bullets had half a team also
By the looks of their roster it looks like they had a full team minus Kull. Does anybody know why the Bullets are protesting the game? I noticed it on the bottom of the game sheet.

I'm just guessing but it looks like Marple didn't have the required number of skaters for the game. I think the rule is that 12 skaters and two goalies need to be rostered for the home team. Trust me, I could care less either way. The Bullets should have taken advantage of the short roster Marple had and came away with the W. On the other hand, props to Marple for beating them with a short bench.
Real professional atmosphere in this league. Teams cannot even dress a full squad for a game.
I play on the Bullets and I didn't even know the game was under protest. I am not sure of the minimum dressed player requirement, but the reason for the protest may be due to the fact that the officials inexplicably made the major penalties for the fight only 3 minutes. At the time the score was 10-7 Glads and they were facing the final 6:16 without Tracy. The officials told our captain that both players in the fight had a minor a major and a 10 minute misconduct. After a 2 minute discussion at the Glads bench, it was changed to 3 minutes in penalties each. Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying this had an effect either way on the outcome of the game, but the calls were horribly blown by the officials. As far as missing players goes, we were missing 4 of our top players, but that does not match the talent that the Glads were missing. We did not play up to our full potential and blew a tremendous opportunity to defeat a depleted Glads team. Full marks to the Glads for getting the players that they did and playing a well enough to win.
Having played for Marple in that game, I am fairly certain that the issue wasn't the Glads roster depth, there was no shortage of players or goalies.

Well by looking at the gamesheet for that game on the MLRH web site, there is a roster issue. From what we understood from the league it was mandatory to dress 12 skaters and 2 goalies for each HOME game, 14 players total. Now that gamesheet only has 10 players and 2 goalies for Marple. Me personally I could really care less but that's why the league puts out rules.
Does anyone else have any info. on this matter?

Didn't your Mom ever tell you that if you didn't have something nice to say, then keep your trap shut? Listen, most of the guys in this league do not live to play hockey. We have families, jobs, commitments and other priorities. It goes like this, family, job, responsibilities, hockey. If I miss a game because of something else going on that is more important, say my son's birthday party, trust me, I'm not at home feeling bad that you are not being made to feel complete. Tell me, have you ever missed a hockey game in your life? All right then. Now go to bed and start listen to your Mommy.
i think its bs n dont care but ur right tho rules r rules
Darrell,
Here is what I found in the MLRH Rule Book:
Rule 9 ? Composition of Team
(a) A roller hockey team will consist of a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 14 players including two
(2) goal keepers.
This would make 10+2 a valid roster.
According to the MLRH website the beef is about the 3 minute calls as mentioned elsewhere in this thread.

Not sure what happened with the fighting majors, but having experience with the small number of players on the rosters, the game can be played as long as the teams agree to play beforehand, and the refs ok it with the league. We did this last year against the Bullets.
If that is the case you should not call yourself a professional... because you don't act or play like one... and a professional athlete would not skip a game hear and there whenever they feel like it... sorry... hate to brake it to you but your not professional...
are you kidding me?
Sorry buddy, but every player in this league has other priorities ABOVE hockey. Certain things take precedence over playing a game.
ESPECIALLY because we are not being paid to play.
It's not un-proefessional to have your priorities straight. It IS unprofessional to not show up when you just 'dont feel like it', but most of the time, thats not the case.
I've only missed 2 games in 2 years, both last year. One due to stiches in my head which I'd rather not have busted open (couldn't wear a helmet with them anyways)
and once because of a family matter.
Does that make me unprofessional?
o.k. The glads won respectfully with half a team, and the bullets didn't take advantage, so congrats to the glads for proving their 2nd team is just as amazing as their first..
