Inline Goalie Pads

Can anyone advise me on what type of affordable leg pads to get? I currently wear an Itech canvas-faced model... I forget the number, but I need new pads for playing on sport court. I have been seeing the Tour pads for $149, and the Mission Lites for $200. That's about the top end of what I want to pay. Any suggestions?

I've heard that the Tour Hydra-Lites are decent for the price.... go on ebay, you can find them cheap...

I wouldn't wear the pads you just mentioned if you plan on playing with a puck. The puck could really do some damage to your legs. Spend a little more and get a set of Boddams or Simmons. The higher end Tour and Mission pads seem to be pretty good for the money.

I think the $149.00 Tour pads are the GTL Sr.pads. They have one more level above that now since my goalies bought those pads in 2001.

My goalies used them playing 17 under in tournament play with pucks and had no problems. The biggest issues were flexibility, and the control of rebounds, and neither was that big an issue unless you have used "broken in" top elite stuff already. I shot on my goalies a lot and they never had a problem. Some of my kids shot harder than I did...80+ but we still never had a problem.

I think if you used them for ice hockey with the heavier puck(5 oz. vs 3.5oz) at a Junior level or above,, you might see a problem, but there were several goalies using those Tour pads(GTL) at last weekend's Echo inline tournament in both the 17U, and adult divisons, and none were complaining.

Update... I got the Tour pads. Will try them out next week. I have been working them over a bit though, they seem very rigid. Definitely need some breaking in. Thanks to all for your responses!
