Marple vs Storm summary...
Yeah...Marple did beat us pretty bad this time around. I do think it could have been a lot closer if we would have put the puck in the net!!! We did have our opportunities, but we did not capitalize. Marple did capitalize on just about every one of their opportunities and as a result, the score speaks for itself. The game was exciting for fans as it was back and forth all night..unfortunately for us, the puck went in when they were striking and was not when we were striking. Hats off to the Marple goaltending stopping the pucks and to their snipers for putting it in the net.
The game did get a bit scrappy when the score was 16-6. Not sure why, but one of the Marple players decided to take out our 2nd string goalie in the 3rd period (check from behind into the boards.....at the time it was called a minor for charging, but after league review, it was deemed a 1 game suspension). During the next few game minutes (about 30 minutes overall), the fists were a flying....resulting in a 4 game suspension for one of my players.
The game then cleaned up again and Marple continued to pound in 5 more.
After a long night, we managed to just get by Philly and returned home with a 4-1 record. The good thing is now we are done with our long roadtrips (we only have 3 left...2 in jersey and 1 in pottstown) and 6 home games. I still would like to know how Jamie managed to get 7 home games in a row to start the season!!! I am a bit jealous, but then again, I do not envy him because he has a long 7 game road trip to end the season.
