Week 4, the aftermath

Just wondering what everyone's reactions are to the games this saturday?

I must say I went 4 for 4 with my picks this weekend.

Once again impressed with the Hartford team. This team is a serious contender with their only loss coming to Boston by a goal.

The Wolves got things back on track after a subpar game. I knew they were better than that score vs the Thunder. But, I actually thought the Wolves would have pulled away a bit more in this game.

Boston blows out the competition again. I think this will be a trend though much of the season. Their game vs Marple should easily be the highlight of Week 5 and possible be a look towards this years championship game, unless Hartford has something to say about it.

And the biggest surpise of the week, has to be the score in the Bullets game. Seemed that most people were on the fence on who would win this one, but it didnt prove to be much of a game. Next weeks game vs the Thunder should be a good test to see if the Bullets are for real.

Anyone have any thoughts on the games or any of my comments?

This is my third year and my thoughts are that this is the best year yet for MLRH, the talent in the league is the best its been in years, if not the best. Its good to see that there isnt really a team that is getting kicked around every night.

Its just not fun unless you stand in front of it!

We beat the Thunder 8-6. That's by two. You were right about one thing, it looks right now at this point in the season that it could very well be Boston and Marple in the dance. As far as your statement "unless Hartford has something to say about it", what can they say. We beat them with three guys. They have nothing to say. We'll give them a Storm t-shirt and they can cheer from the stands.

to tell u the truth the bullets game was good. bullets were doin what marple does alot one guy high he passes really hard and the other guy skates fast down low across the net one times it in. goal.not a hole lot u can do about that sometimes. bullets played alot better. sting needs to work on somethings. we maybe down but not out. i think any team in this league can suprise the other.

Good one Roger! Those guys did nothing but complain, that is one of the reasons they lost that game. Look at the scoresheet, the Storm have all of these new additions in the past two weeks that are make the the Thunder go home crying again. I heard something to the effect that the Thunder were complaining about the referees, but looking at things on paper makes me think that the Storm won that game fair and square.

Now moving out of the past and into the future. The big dance with Marple this coming weekend. This is one of Marple's 8 home games in a row, so this should be good for them. However, the Storm are nothing to mess with right now. As far as CJ and Ron keeping the lead with points and goals, that is going away after this weekend, because the roll that the Boston Storm are on is going to be tough to beat them, even if they are in Marple. The partially proved that this past weekend in Pittsburgh, lighting up the board 18-5. This weekend should show who is the "Best in MLRH."

You may have beaten the Thunder by two but it was a closer game then just two goals. SpiderRat, according to you, the Storm beat Hartford with 3 guys which was the same the same thing you said when I made week two predictions under the username jrthunder27! "Last year we won with 5 guys." This year you took a close game supposedly with 3 guys, big deal, if you would just admit that Hartford has possibly the most competitive team in MLRH this season we wouldn't have all this controversey on the message board. I mean the Thunder didn't have Eric Weichselbaumer but you don't see any of their players making excuses about losing a game. The Storm is a great team, but I seriously doubt they are going to go all the way this year. Not with the talent that the other teams in the league have, I mean this is possibly going to be the best MLRH season yet and I don't think anyone can argue that.

The Thunder is definatly a good team but come up to Boston when they play us in our barn and see what happens when we have a full roster with all our starters. It still may be a close game never know but trust me no team has seen our starting lineup yet. We're hoping to finally get it for this weekends game against Marple.

My other question is, what happens to the Thunder if there only star player, Jon Pinhero gets hurt or cant play? It seems as if he is the only one that is scoring all of the goals for that team.

Jon is a great player, and that shows when you look at the stats. But if he was to get hurt (let's hope that does not happen!) the Thunder has a whole group of players who could step into the leading scorer role. There is a ton of talent on the Thunder team and nobody can despute that, and I am sure we are going to see some exciting things from Anthony Giusto, Jason Salvato, Christopher Vasseur, abd the rest of the Thunder as the season goes on!

Well the way I look at it now, they are doing nothing to show that they are the scorers that Pinhero is right now. Until they step up to that role, they are showing nothing, except that Jon Pinhero is the one that is getting all of the goals for them. Had he of not scored in the Boston Storm game it would have made the score 8-2 as the final. So, I do not want to hear that he does not make the difference on the team. Thanks for the reply though.

Regardless of how many goals he scores, he's not the whole team. If he goes down, other guys will step up. Thats how it goes...


It's not like he's skating end to end, playing D, blocking shots, then skating through an entire team and scoring. You need to realize that an assist is worth just as many points as a goal....

I wasn't saying that he didn't make a difference to the team, in fact John is obviously one of the guys who has been making the Thunder a winning team during the early part of this season. I was trying to get across that other players on the team will eventually step up and put the puck in the back of the net. All teams have their powerhouses, Marple has CJ Yoder and Ron Tracy, The Bullfrogs (RHI 99) had Hugo Belanger, then the Thunder has Jon! I think alot of other teams are watching out for him, and they should be but even if you totally take him out of the game you aren't gonna be able to stop the Thunder. Anyway thats what I think about this subject, but to pretty much some up my thoughts I think this is going to be a great season and am looking foward to the other games I am planning on attending.
