    Website

I think that its great to see that most of the teams and the MLRH website is being updated frequently and promptly, helping maybe to change the image of our league. Looks like the offseason changes are working into place. Wondering if any of the left coast teams are aiming for a comeback for next year, if so how many?? Also other than DC and the Warriors anybody else planning to throw there hat in the mix for next year??

Its just not fun unless you stand in front of it!

Thank God Someone Was Nice Enough To Put Me On Their Team!

Any delays can be blamed on poor writing and getting scoresheets to the home office late. When the "small" things are done right the big things will fall in place.

    Re: Website - "Left-Coasters"

The "left coast" is alive and well and actually doing more than aiming for a comeback next year. We're in the middle of planning a four-weekend, four-city exhibition series this spring in L.A, Oakland, Sacto and Phoenix - kind of a mini-tourney format with 3 games each weekend in each city. Hopefully we can create some new interest/excitement and bring in some "fresh blood" (couldn't resist!) for next season.

Glad to hear all the off-season work is paying off over there!

Agreed!!!! And I can admit I am the only one behind on this one....(website for the Storm).....It is in the works and should be up in about a week or two. We (Darrell and I), have just been swamped with getting the line-up squared away and getting the team going (we did get a late start this year!!!!....did not know we would have this team until in September).

As for your question regarding DC coming back next year....I am planning on helping them get back in the league. Here is the deal....DC had their team entry fee paid (most of it) and was planning on playing this season. Then we ran into problems getting a rink in the DC area that would rent us the rink on Sats and allow us to charge admission.....So I talked with the league and Ryan P. & Tim S. (DC owners) about allowing us to move the rights to the team to Boston for this season. This would allow Boston to get into the league with a lesser capital outlay to start-up operations and ensure that DC would not fold completely. The only other option was for DC to pay the annual operating fee and be a traveling only team or pay the annual operating fee and sit out the season. So for the benefit of the league, we all decided this was the best thing to do.

So, for next season, DC plans on coming back...DC is in talks with several rinks...including some that are currently under construction. Things are looking positive!!!

As for Boston, we will definitely be back!!!!

I'm confused and I guess been out of the public loop some. I thought the Boston team was the Virginia Storm moved to Boston since the team was basically from Boston anyway. Is that not true if it is the CD team???

I'm definitely out of touch as I didn't know the west coast teams weren't playing this season. Can someone refresh my memory as to what happened?

    Re: Website

The Storm team from last year was technically owned by the league and they asked me to act as the GM/Owner after the first few games last year. At the end of the season, I had the option to buy the team, but after talking with the DC owners, I decided that one team was more than enough in the DC/NVA area. After not finding a rink in the area that would allow us to charge for admission, we decided to do what I posted in the last post. So the Storm is now in Boston with the same Boston guys from last year plus the addition of several others...I am the only remaining player from the DC area. As for the Voltage....some of their players are currently playing for the Snipers and others are taking the year off. Both, the DC Voltage and the Boston Storm, will be back next year!!!!

As for the West Coast.....we only had 5 team commit to play this season. Since we could not get a sixth team, we decided to concentrate on the East coast this season, find additional teams out West for next season, and work hard on making this league a successful one! We are currently in talks with several teams out west and believe we playing out there next season again. Key watching www.mlrh.com as we will be posting some exhibition tournaments out west in the Spring of 2004 to get ready for to get them back in the league.
