    Being A Captain

What do you think a captain of a rec team should have to do. I know you have to call all the players to make sure they know the game time and when to sign up. What else do you think a captain should do. My wednesday teams captain left to go on his mission. I was nominated captain. I don't mind being captain but I get looked upon for everything.

Hey John. In a rec league you should do a few things. Sort out the lines, tell them who is playing with you, or maybe ask them who they want to play with. During the game, you might have to make the call on certain situations(when you're down by 1, do you pull the goalie, double-shift your best line, etc). You're also the guy that should talk to the officials. The ONLY guy to talk to the officials, in debating calls, calling timeouts, etc.

That's my thoughts. Now when you're the captain of UNLV hockey(soon?!?!? you'll of course have some more duties! Mostly administrative and organizing travel, etc.

I am looking forward to them. I hope to have everything else organized before I take on those responsibilities.
