MLRH AA Non-Check Finals

Ottagringer take AA title, edge Hartford Fire Ants, 5-4, in final.

The New Jersey AA Ottakringer captured the MLRH AA (non-check) national title this past Sunday afternoon as they edged the Hartford Fire Ants, 5-4, in a Championship thriller.

Ottakringer knocked off the Pottstown Firebirds in the semifinals to make it to the title game, while the Fire Ants Edged NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College) 5-4 in sudden-death OT.

Eight teams had qualified throughout the summer for MLRH's first non-check National Champinship Team Beakaway takes 14's and 12's Championship.

The Team Breakaway program, representing the MLRH Garden State Ottakringer had a good weekend as the Captured the first-ever MLRH youth titles, defeating teams representing the Pottstown Firebirds in both divisions.

MLRH President Bill Raue said, "This is a great beginning for our expanded youth program. Frank McManus (Pottstown) and Pedro Cancel (Breakaway/Ottakringer) have great programs and this is the model for establishing a relationship between our pro teams and the youth teams thatplay in their home facilities."

I would like to congratulate Ottagringer for winning the adult AA. I am actually a new user, from the CT Fireants. We are a new team that was born a couple months ago, so we are looking to become competitive and play in a lot of tournaments.
