THe AAU Championships were held this last weekend in Detroit. 8 Women's teams attended. In order to be selected for the FIRS nationals in 2004 you HAD to attend this tournament. There are 2 positions available for players at large (Olympic ice players) the rest would be selected from the 30 chosen by the alleged NGB of roller hockey. Many of these teams chose not to attend NARCh and Tohrs, because the can only afford one trip. I guess the big question is for this NGB, did anybody hear the results? Did they televise any games like NARCh or Tohrs? Did they have results posted after games by pointstreak? To me it appears that AAU and FIRs are blackmailing teams to play a 2nd rate tournament.

Gee, has that just dawned on some people? And did they REALLY have slots open or did they just want to take in as much money as possible for the existing team? Even if all was legit it still leaves the smell of last week's garbage.
