    No Williamsburg,What?

I heard a rumor that the Williamsburg team will not be playing in the upcoming MLRH season. Any truth to this? Say it ain't so.

I believe that is correct. Been waiting for you to sign on to ask how the TORHS went? Did you get to face the players you wanted? I did notice that you didn't play many games-hope you weren't hurt.

Yes, this is correct, the Warriors will not be playing in this upcoming season. There are several reasons for this, both business and personal. This does not mean that the Warriors org and myself are bowing out of the MLRH, just that the team won't be playing this season. I suspect you will see some of our players on different teams this year. We fully intend to be playing in 2004 season. Personally, I will likely be covering quite a few games with my camera.

My goal for this season is to try to do some solid division building down here. I'm specifically looking for contacts in the Richmond, VA and Raliegh, NC areas or there abouts, so if anybody has them, please cough them up.

Ben, you are trying to make a bigger, better league but you aren't putting a team in this year???????????? I don't get it.

I know, ironic as hell isn't it.

This isn't the proper forum for the whys & the why nots, but, let me leave it like this: It was not a decision made lightly nor easily. For starters I knew I'd hear this exact question, many, many times. Secondly, I knew people would try to say that this shows I have no faith in the MLRH. That is the farthest thing from the truth. I'm very comfortable with the direction the MLRH is going in. I'm backing that with not only my time and effort in the work I'm doing for the league but with my wallet as well. The Warriors are paying their league & ref fees just like every other team out there, but we won't be on the schedule this year. I wouldn't be doing either if I didn't think the MLRH is getting it right.

Now if that doesnt show what kind of man Ben is nothing will. Who else in here would put up league and ref fees and not play, shows how much he is dedicated to the MLRH.

Its just not fun unless you stand in front of it!

Thank God Someone Was Nice Enough To Put Me On Their Team!

Those of us who know Ben know how hard this decision was to make for him. He has really worked hard, not unlike many people last season, to improve the league. That's why he was dubbed "Daddy Hockey" by Ian the first season he was GM.
